I think while there was a noticeable change when Vol 4 came out, the problems solidified with Vol 6. Vol 4-5 can't be compared to Vol 6-9.

Nah, earlier than that. V3 was the beginning of the shit volumes and the fall of Beacon is where the show goes wrong.
