Scythes top my list of "cringiest RPG melee weapon", but to each their own. Kensei is a monk subclass in 5e. Pretty sure there's a mod for that.

It's a monk subclass now. Not in PHB and whatever modules Larian bought. It's essentially a duelist with a built-in smite. No spamming...
