Brodie had a respritory issue, not a heart attack.

Brodie had idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, from what I understand it causes your lungs to thicken with scar tissue and eventually stops the lungs...

I think this is what happened to Keith Lee though, just not to the extent that he had a heart attack.
