You probably should put those both in a spoiler. They can be pretty damn gross.

A shit diet, shit immune system or maybe diabetes slow down the healing process. Add in bad hygiene and Chris fucking with it might explain why...

The area is an area prone to damp, warm conditions...under the right circumstances this wound could absolutely continue to fester 2 years later.
