The whole "Chris doesn't read the forums!"-bit is a large part due to people having a tendency of posting rants directed to Chris himself if there...

He reads alright. Though perhaps not close enough, because if he did that whole "reality" thing would probably catch up to him.

I noticed that, too... and I think no. It reads like what he thinks is a well-constructed excuse to make his need for these toys more important...
