Something like that already happened with Kickstarter :julay:s created accounts and placed fake bids and inflated his budget to over $20k before...

This was my immediate thought. Probably optimistic I know, but hey.

I don't know a lot about Patreon, or Chris's in particular but isn't there an option to charge upfront to avoid this? Anyone know if Chris does that?
