It's been a long time since I played them since I lost my PS2, but I'd say go for it, I think I replayed 1 and 2 like 10 times when I was a kid...

Just get the remakes. They are better anyway. I played both DAH 1 and 2 in the late 2000's. I 100% them both. They are on the small list of games...

If you have an OG Xbox, definitely shoot for that version. Otherwise the PS2 copies are fine - they just won't look or play quite as good. And...
