Fine. You have less rounds for the same mag size and weight, so you might want to see if a longer barrel AR-15 could be good enough first.

Realistically probably the best .308 platform in terms of capability divided by weight.

The thing to keep in mind is that there's different standards for AR-10s, as "AR-10s" are Armalite spec while "AR-308s" are the DPMS spec...
