In hindsight, it's difficult to interpret their actions any differently than this. The mask mandate should have never come down and that was obvious when it happened. The numbers were dropping, but they weren't good.

The most generous interpretation is that they were simply trying to make the Biden admin look good by saying "We put the right guy in power You voted correctly and now everything's back to normal!".

Man this is getting out of hand a lot faster than I expected. Reddit jannies being coordinated about this makes it even more suspect to me, doubly so with how they're spamming even porn reddits. This isn't some BLM protest or Trans Appreciation Day nonsense. This is a totally out-of-the-blue push about the INFODEMIC, here just called "misinformation". Personally I doubt the jannies would go this far unless they got word to do it from someone at Reddit HQ.

- First we get the threat to Section 230 to "combat medical misinformation"
- Then Facebook started getting tighter about Covid info after being called out by the president for "killing people" by allowing others to post about "misinformation"
- Then Twitter recently announced its new policies against "misinformation"
- Then we learned about what think tanks and consulting companies--the kind of consulting companies tech businesses use--are promoting across the net
- Now Reddit is uniformly spamming every corner of its site to combat Covid "misinformation"

When I saw Youtube start having blurbs and pulling down vids due to "vaccine hesitancy" I thought it was just Google being Google. When I heard the CDC Director outright say the spike in Delta variant Covid cases was a "pandemic of the unvaccinated" (President said it too), I thought it was a shocking but funny gaff.

Let's see how far this goes, everyone. The bright side is that if all the tech industry is pulling this self-censorship tactic to avoid being singled out as a cause to gut Section 230, then we might not see anyone hurt Sect. 230. What would be the point?
Let's just hope no one at Cloudflare gets the bright idea that they, too, must self-censor and combat the horrible invisible enemy of the INFODEMIC

The Reddit hivemind is asking for r/NoNewNormal and r/ivermectin to be banned. The global Administrator Spez (in screenshot I posted) stated that they're "not going to censor discussion" and implied they're leaving these subs alone for now, but there's no telling how long that will last.

We've seen in the past that the admins do eventually cave to pressure if enough gayops and bitching occur. I wouldn't be shocked if some of the janny brigade from AgainstHateSubreddits starts bombing these subs with NSFL/illegal content using socks (their usual censorship tactic), in an attempt to provoke the admins to ban these subs.

NoNewNormal has good, thought-provoking content on it. I haven't looked at r/ivermectin until now, but it's already being brigaded and every legitimate post has been downvoted to 0 and spammed. And brigaders have filled the sub up with horse memes. These people cannot stand anyone having a discussion contrary to mainstream narrative.
 
The COVID-19 vaccine discussion reminds me of the old adage about reasons: if you’ve got too many, you’re lying. No matter what ‘the science’ says, the imperative to take the vaccine never changes. Firstly it was considered necessary to reach herd immunity. That’s now been determined to be an impossible goal but young healthy people still must get vaccinated. Why? To stop them from spreading the virus? Theres no evidence that it reduces asymptotic transmission in practice. What’s the delta on the masked unvaccinated versus the unmasked vaccinated? Why not just have us all wear masks forever if it’s a question of scale? And transmission to who? Immunosuppressed people? They’re all vaccinated and getting an extra dose to boot.

The real reason you need to get vaccinated is because they told you to and shut the fuck up for questioning their God, the collective. Never mind that nobody on the left wanted Muh Trump Vaccine.

Why are you pretending not to know why this happens? There is no reason for anyone to complain about shitposting while also feigning ignorance about why they occur, as if they're just dropped from the ether with no rhyme or reason. Do like everyone does with every thread on the Internet--ignore the bad posts and look for the informative or funny ones, usually accompanied by an archive link, a video or pics.

Also check the OP frequently. There is no excuse for anyone not to be up to date with the information gleaned by posters ITT when the OP is a mile long and has a dedicated NEW INFO section with literal police siren gifs.

Reddit really is just a hell unto itself but even so, what you pointed out only adds to my suspicion that this isn't simply a gayop from a Reddit tranny mod Discord cabal. This is too widespread and coordinated. I mean, it's true that Reddit jannies are mentally ill and don't have anything better to do with their lives but it just seems to me like they've been given direction from on high.

Wouldn't be surprised if all of this and the request for those subreddits to get banned is part of an actual Reddit HQ operation to make it seem like their incoming changes are organic and according to what their userbase wants. Although I also wouldn't be surprised if the Reddit userbase really did want all of this.

Where I live we are only at like 41% fully vaccinated, but are already back to normal.

Whether you are "back to normal" or not has nothing to do with the virus, a wild non-sapient biological entity; and everything to do with government and corporate dejure policies.
 
Speaking of policies, we can thank President Biden for strongly suggesting private companies start forcing their employees to be vaccinated. Not only are college universities starting to charge their unvaccinated students hundreds of dollars--now the airlines are starting to do it as well! Not just charge them hundreds of dollars monthly, either. Another airline is threatening termination of employment. If you don't get the jab you're out a job.

Japan has been studying Ivermectin as an alternative to expensive and ineffective vaccines. The chairman of Tokyo's medical association said research is positive and will continue.

Haruo Ozaki, chairman of the Tokyo Metropolitan Medical Association, recommended urgent use of the drug at a press conference on the 9th, mainly to prevent the aggravation of home caregivers in order to respond to the spread of the new coronavirus infection. He emphasized that antiparasitic drugs such as "ivermectin" should be administered to corona-infected persons, saying that they have been shown to be effective in preventing aggravation overseas.

In addition to ivermectin, he called for the government to approve the use of the steroidal anti-inflammatory drug dexamethasone. Mr. Ozaki said, "(Both) have few side effects. I would like the government to consider treatment at the level of the family doctor."

Both ivermectin and dexamethasone are prescribed domestically. However, it has not been approved as a treatment for corona. As of the 8th, there are about 1,600 home recuperators in Tokyo, and about 1,600 infected people who are "under adjustment" because the hospitalization destination has not been decided. How to deal with sudden changes in the physical condition of home care patients who are often mild or asymptomatic is also an issue.

Mr. Ozaki emphasized that the number of newly infected people in Tokyo per day is "reducing the number to about 100 is the way to improve the situation from April to June." On the 9th, 412 newly infected people were confirmed in Tokyo.

The official story is that there are no cures or medicines to fix COVID-19 and without brave government lock downs, millions of dead bodies would be lining the streets. Except other medicines are very effective, and lockdowns don't do anything. All we're getting are more government overreach, contact tracing, vaccine passports, 50% of small businesses destroyed, mass homelessness in the streets instead.

And pharmaceutical companies are making billions of dollars on a very new type of mRNA treatment with zero long-term studies.
