exactly, plus LA is about 1000 square miles, there is tons of land people still build on, even somewhere on the water like long beach has a shitload of construction on basically unused land, for fucks sake disney was able to build a whole theme park in LA back in 2001 just with land they never built but brought decades ago, almost every part of that town has stuff like that, land that was brought for some scheme that never shook out decades ago, just waiting to be brought or used. if he said it was so it was easier to be with family, that could have worked. but still people drive an hour one way to visit family in that city. and again its not like NYC, where they already built to the city limits a century ago, and its either push people out or just not live somewhere. there is so much empty space in LA its unreal,
