I've noticed that people like CWC, ADF and Dobson will try to latch on to groups that by default are (or at least appear to be)very accepting. I think the reason is they think if the group accepts one aspect of them then they will accept ALL aspects of them and never call them out on their inappropriate behavior.

Actually, I think they latch onto groups that have no real "entry requirements", but make their members feel like they are something special.
