Its poor catechism more than anything: pastors unable to catechise people, the people unwilling to be catechised. Small doubt leads to resentment. "I was lied to" "my parents brainwashed me".

America's problem is that christianity was about "me and God" individualism which led to "i can have church anywhere" which led to traditional denominational churches becoming big tent which meant that pastors wouldnt/couldnt teach people about the most basic doctrines because people would leave in disagreement. Plenty of people in pews think belief in the trinity isnt necessary - numerous discussions ended with "well, we cant know God so we cant say the trinity is real with any certainity" and "its not in the bible". And this was a church that said the apostle creed (albeit john piper's version).


. These are the same christians who do seder and passover to better understand easter. You cant blame anyone else for internal failings.

IDF goes into the fortress of Gaza and ignores every law in the book. Close quarters combat, a week of bloodbath to obliterate every semblance of Palestinian community. Declare total victory. Afterwards they can never talk about the holocaust again.
