Culture Germantown School District says students involved in racist act will face 'consequences' - 4 zoomers were walking around the high school wearing paper crowns from Burger King

GERMANTOWN, Wis. (CBS 58 ) -- Two weeks after the Germantown school board banned a teaching model examining race, four students are being disciplined for taking part in a racist act.

At a packed school board meeting Monday, April 26, many parents demanded the board reconsider.

Last week, four students were walking around the high school wearing paper crowns from Burger King.

It wasn't until another student explained to the district the subtext behind those crowns that led to an investigation.

"Seeing these kids going around our school with these Burger King hats, indicating that video which was really disgusting," said Germantown High School Junior Aaron Grant.

Grant is referring to a video that went viral in last October, of a man's racist tirade on a flight while wearing a Burger King crown.

Internet racists then made the man's image and his language infamous.

"Nobody's been wearing those Burger King hats since forever," said Grant.

When he saw four students wearing the hats, he wanted something done.

"I'm tired of the racism that's going around in our school and nothing's really happening," said Grant.

He said he told the principal, guidance counselors and his coach. The district sent an email to parents explaining what had happened, saying consequences will occur. An email to staff encouraged them to make this a teachable moment.

School district statistics show the high school student body is 80-percent white.

"This incident is disgusting and cannot happen again, the incident highlights that we continue to have opportunities in the area of diversity, equity and inclusion," said School Board President Bob Soderberg.

He said the district must do better in both the schools and the community.

"None of this stuff is funny, racism isn't funny, any kind of hate towards any, any culture, is not funny at all," said Grant.

The superintendent said the investigation into last week's incident has finished.

Absolute mad lads, the lot of 'em.

So they just wore the BK crown and didnt say anything racist? These people are fucking thinskinned mfer. Shit i had that BK crown plane guy as a pfp before and ive already forgotten about him yet these people made that association? Just wow.
There exists indication that they did it on purpose.
A Germantown student reportedly emailed other students the video, which shows a man wearing a Burger King crown on a plane and shouting "Take that n----- b---- off the plane!" A screenshot of the email was posted in the Go Gtown Go Great public Facebook group.
After the email went out, the four students wore Burger King crowns to school. District officials said they learned later that the crowns had "a very negative and racist connotation," according to an email sent to high school parents after the incident.

So at least two of them knew what they were doing and got caught, it's not completely a caught in the crossfire of a meme war situation.

Still, if I'm forced to take a side, I don't know if I want to side with the 2+2=5 crowd...

He's going to get a teachable moment alright, but I don't think it's going to be the lesson he intended.

Yeah but see, “a” student (identity unknown) emailed “other students“ (quantity and identities unknown), and then a screenshot was posted by “someone” in a public Facebook group (where anyone - or no one - might see it).

Then “the four students” (who are not indicated to be the emailer, recipients of the email, the FB poster, or known to have seen the post - nor are they indicated to NOT be) showed up in BK crowns. And the black kid decided there was a connection.

I think if one of the four Kings had been the emailer or the FB poster, they would’ve closed the loop in the article. Instead, they wrote it in such a way as to lure the mind to connect it, without actually connecting it. This is trickery of a sort that they wouldn’t employ if they could state a fact instead. IMO.

It’s Satanic Panic all over again with every minor innocuous thing having a secret, hidden evil meaning that some underground cabal uses to signal each other and corrupt the innocent. If they didn’t have damn near the entire media industry on their side, I’d be counting down the days until somebody claimed you could hear the phrase “Hitler did nothing wrong” when playing a popular song backwards.

I've just discovered my new pick up line. "Hey baby, you know those racist southern plantation women wore panties, right? You're not a racist are you? Take your panties off".

So what if they did? They saw a funny video and worn paper crowns as an in-joke to break up the monotony of public education. They did not repeat or endorse the message in the video. Fuck this school district if they can't take a joke. When I was in school people panicked whenever a kid showed up in a black trench coat because OMFGZ mass shooter, but even back then the kids weren't punished, there was no mass mailing to parents, and it never became a news story. Now they're panicking over paper BK crowns because OMFGZ naughty words in a video, and they're virtue-signalling to everyone who will listen.

Well, at least these kids are only facing consequences, and aren't getting canceled. And I thought snitches get stitches?

Most of the recent incidents like this, for the record, were shown to have been faked by black students, hoping to get attention...hmm rather like this upstanding young gentleman in this article.

So, when they can say outright that they know who sent the video out, it was a white kid, specifically one of these four white Kings, then I expect they will. If they never do, then I’ll assume the black kid who ”reported” them was behind it.

I hope the next racist outburst comes in video form and is a dude saying "I love reddit.com and trannys. Fuck niggers. Did I mention how much, I a racist, love reddit.com and male to female transsexuals. Ya'all, niggers ain't shit."
