Overwatch Director Jeff Kaplan Leaves Blizzard Entertainment - the angry jew that ruined Everquest & every MMO after by proxy is finally leaving the sinking ship

I wonder what happened inside Blizzard to make him leave out of the blue?
My guess -

Activision bought the company and started cracking down on the Blizzard attitude of "we'll finish the game whenever we fucking feel like". This had 3 very specific outcomes.
- Starcraft 2 (which was on-off development for a full decade) would finally be released, but in episodic parts, because they still weren't done with it.
- Diablo 3 (which was on-off development for a full decade as well) would be released in the state it was in and tuned later.
- WoW (which was the company's cash cow/main franchise) would continue on as is, and the rumored "WoW2" (Project Titan) would have to be scrapped and it's assets turned into something.

Kaplan was a MMO guy through and through (from EQ to WoW) and was moved off of WoW to helm the "Project Titan" - which was originally a new MMO, which was probably a big deal to him. However, after years (a common Blizz trend) he had nothing to show for it - he was (likely) forced/directed to make his game a team-based shooter/esport, as Acti probably didn't see any value in making a game that would directly compete with themselves. TF2 was clearly an "inspiration" and Kaplan, for whatever reason, saw to the creation of what we know as Overwatch. I'm not sure if it was out of company loyalty or he had a specific outline in his compensation - but Overwatch was "complete" (it's still missing a whole lot of story stuff and is really barebones).

Kaplan probably wants to get back into the MMO arena, but at Blizz he's locked into Overwatch 1/2/3 and related esports. From the OW2 demos/promos/etc, it doesn't seem like Kaplan or his team have anything new or innovative to add to OW currently, but Acti clearly wants a sequel and to make Overwatch a "core franchise".

Additionally - it isn't out of the blue. Blizzard has lost several key employees and a lion's share of them have been winding up at Dreamhaven, Mike Morihime's new studio.

Jeff is the same kind of shit as Luke Smith. Don't hire MMO nerds as game directors ever, they have no clue how to make a good game.
Also can Gigantic please come back? It was like if Overwatch was original, actually fun, and unique instead of reskinned Hat Fortress.
To be fair YoshiP seems alright, but he’s also stayed in his lane and doesn’t seem to have the delusions of grandeur a lot of western dev leads have now.

I found out via yongyea's video and he mentions people are mourning this on twitter. Fucking wew, people really don't know whats good if they are that sad over freaking overwatch. I quit pretty early on and all through 2016 and part of 2017 I kept hearing my friends bitching about the state of the game, so I made the right call.

Anyways I predict he will open his own studio or partner with an existing one, they will make a team based shooter and use his name for marketing to hype up what will be a really mediocre game nobody will play a month after release.
so he's going to make a competitive game then... and fail hard because it's tigole, kek.
Jeff is a fucking hack that ruined the game industry but I don't think balance and e-sports were a jeff problem, it's a general problem in the company, wow fully went that way in cata after jeff left. For some reason blizzard thinks it's still the late 90s when e-sports were great advertising for the game or something when starcraft put them on the map.
not just him, alot of niggers still think esports are the shit and aren't noticing it's starting to get stale, even korea which still tries to base itself on competitiveness and "stronger-than-thou" has shown signs to notice shit is changing, fuck, black desert which is the pinnacle of koreanism is changing, slowly but chagning nonetheless. MP's scale is starting to shift away from competitiveness and if you are dumb enough to still want to hold that pendulum, i have no sympathy at all for you.

considering how he's into endgaming i believe he could have a shot at bungie in destiny 2's pre-shadowlight or whatever the new expansion is? i mean everything is signaling that luke smith is losing decisioning power because of his retarded ideas for the game and another retarded endgame moron like tigole would be the perfect stench to the ugliest turd that ever exists, but that is in the past as i've noted, destiny 2 losing players to outrides was anything but a huge wake up call to the team to stop listening to luke smith and try to get things back on track since they don't have all that activision money to keep them afloat.
Cutting out the tumor doesn't always get rid of the cancer, sadly.
the thing is that if @Tanner Glass is right, then they are going to transplant that tumor since it's already contributed to metastasis enough...

Ana also killed it, then I think Doomfist also killed it? It dies a lot
For me, the game died first died when they put in hero limits. It should have just stayed a TF2 with waifus.

The game has a lot of fundamental problems. The devs wanted people to switch up their team comp constantly, but ultimates are game-changing and you lose your ult meter when you switch heroes. All maps are chokepoints with maybe 1-2 alternate routes for characters with high mobility. Heroes get countered by themselves. How do you counter Lucio speed aura? You pick your own Lucio. How do you counter a good Widow? You get your own Widow to snipe her. Back then, how did you counter Mercy mass rez? You guessed it, you pick your own Mercy that could mass rez you after the enemy team got mass rezzed and wiped your team.

I played OW last month with some friends and queues are getting pretty crazy for a supposedly super successful game. But hey, OW will surely outlive TF2, right? If League gets killed by Riot next I might die from happiness this year.

Do you remember when Greg "Ghostcrawler" Street left and everybody was celebrating? How little times change.

Ghostcrawler Greg Street had his hand in fucking up wow as well. He was in charge in late wotlk and after when the game was beginning to stale. Now he is the lead developer of Riot's new mmo, oh boi let's see how it will go.

Good luck being against a Pharah Mercy combo. Even now, it's still OP.

I will miss Jeff Kaplan. He was the face of Overwatch; his community updates would always be engaging for fans of the game. That said, best leave Activision while you can.

How exactly did Reversed Almo ruin MMOs?
He doesn't does just look like Almo, he's acted like Almo for 20+ years. He was a trolling shitposter on EQ and posted a lot of ignorant feedback on their forums which the devs acquiesced to. Then he stopped fucking playing. Somehow someone at Blizzard read these angry posts and thought "this is who we should hire to help develop OUR mmo!" despite Kaplan's complete lack of credentials. He started off writing quest text and lore bits but got way too much power way too quickly. Then when he moved to Overwatch he made tons of community videos and updates explaining how he would fix toxicity in-game, despite being one of the most toxic assholes to ever exist on the EQ forums. Of course nothing was done other than some people getting banned and having to re-buy the game.

Identical career arc to Anthony Burch; one fucking fan in a game company can open the door and make you head honcho on projects you have no business leading.
