Generally when you do a reading for someone else, especially when they are not in the room with you and can't touch the cards, it's good to pick a card to represent the person you are doing the reading for and have it on the table. You are not limited to Minor Arcana figures but I think they provide enough archetypes to pick something for any person

No, Queen of Swords is fine if your question is related to conflict or competition of any kind. I'm just saying that in case of some specific question the minor arcana figure marker can be replaced with something else. For example if we were asking a very specific question related to, for example, getting out of a toxic relationship, we could use the Devil who represents addiction, unhealthy attraction and entanglement. Or if you want to use a marker for a reading you're doing for yourself, you usually pick the Mage.
