🐱 The Adult's Guide to Losing Your Virginity

CatParty

Not all of us lose our virginity at age 16 in the back of an old Camry. If you’re still a virgin later in life, it can feel like you’re the last person on earth who hasn’t had sex. But rest assured, you aren’t alone.
According to a recent CDC study, Americans are waiting longer than they used to to have sex for the first time (30 percent of Gen Z respondents between the ages of 18 and 22 noted they were virgins; 12 to 14 percent of men and women aged 20 to 24 said the same). Whether you’re waiting for your wedding or just haven’t found the right person, here’s what you should know about losing your virginity as an adult.

What to expect

You probably know the basics of where everything goes, but let’s start by talking about what you should expect before, during, and after losing your virginity.

Before

First things first: what does virginity mean to you? Most people still think that p-in-v intercourse is what defines losing one’s virginity, but that really shouldn’t be the default. Maybe you’re queer, and there’s no penis and/or vagina in the mix. Or, vaginal intercourse might not be a part of your desired repertoire. There may be other acts that have more meaning to you. It’s really up to each of us to decide what act constitutes losing our virginity. Aside from the logistics, there’s also the emotional weight that you assign to your virginity: Would you like to lose your virginity with someone you care about? Are you saving it for a committed relationship? Or marriage?

On that note, a lot of older virgins struggle with whether or not to lower their standards (in one way or another) to “get it over with.” Being clear on what your virginity actually means to you may help you stick to your guns a bit more. Being self-conscious about your virginity status is understandable, but do you really want to remember this experience as that time when I got desperate and threw my standards out the door?

One of the biggest questions that comes up for later-in-life virgins is whether or not to tell a potential first partner about your virginity status. My advice tends to be yes; your virginity isn’t anything to be ashamed of, so you don’t need to hide it. Virginity means different things to different people, so you should allow your partner to decide whether or not they feel comfortable being the one to take yours.

You’ll also need to figure out how you’re going to protect yourself from sexually transmitted infections and (if there are male and female parts involved) pregnancy. Have a conversation with your partner about their STI status and what sorts of barriers to use. Do this before you’re naked and horny.

You’re probably going to be a big bundle of nerves before losing your virginity. That’s okay! No need to force yourself to act nonchalant if it feels like there’s a colony of butterflies setting up shop in your stomach. Let yourself feel whatever you need to feel before, during, and afterwards.

During

Let me be real with you: Your first time is probably going to be short, a little awkward, and not particularly fantastic. You or your partner may not reach orgasm. It will feel like there are an awful lot of limbs involved and no good place to put any of them. It takes time and practice to learn how to have great sex. You’ll get there eventually, but not your first time—and that’s okay! Try focusing on the acts you’ve already done and feel comfortable with to bolster your confidence.

If there are lady parts and penetration involved, your first time may also be somewhat painful and bloody. Most people think that the hymen is responsible for these unfortunate side effects, but that’s not necessarily the case. The oft-misunderstood hymen doesn’t block off her vaginal canal, and doesn’t “pop” during sex. It’s a permeable membrane that likely already has a number of perforations in it. If you have a vagina and do experience pain, it’s probably because the sensitive tissues of the vaginal canal aren’t used to being penetrated in this way. Bleeding can come from the hymen, but it’s just as likely to originate from the tissues of the vagina, which again, aren’t used to this kind of intrusion.

After

Be prepared for clean-up. As mentioned above, there may be some blood involved. There may also be lots of bodily fluids that are rapidly sliding their way out of your orifices. Have a box of Kleenex or a towel nearby.

If you’re a lady, be sure to pee afterwards! Bacteria can get pushed into your urethra during any sort of sexual contact. You do not want to celebrate losing your virginity with a nasty UTI.

Advice to keep in min

When my clients talk about losing their virginity, the phrase “I wish I had know that beforehand” comes up over and over. Here are some tips to for avoiding many of the common virginity-losing pitfalls:

Talk about your expectations beforehand. Simply talking it out can help decrease your nerves and set more realistic expectations. Your partner might tell you that they just want to get the first time over with and focus on making the second time more fun. Or maybe you both agree to take your time and make it special. It doesn’t have to be your wedding night. If you’ve decided to wait until marriage, I highly recommend doing it the day after your wedding. You’re going to be so exhausted from the festivities that you’re going to be dangerously close to passing out the second that your head hits the pillow. Sure, you could force yourself to have sex, but who wants that as their first-time memory?Be sober. Navigating your first time takes a little effort, so you want to have all your wits about you. Being drunk or high will make it more likely that you’ll experience pain and less likely that you’ll enjoy yourself (or even remember the experience at all!). A glass of wine is fine to calm your nerves, but try not to get too tipsy.Spend plenty of time on foreplay. Some people are so eager to get to “the main event” that they forget that the “foreplay” is more than half the fun. Plus, it will help you both relax and feel more excited about sharing this experience.A practical tip is for you straight, cis dudes out there: Use your fingers to help guide your penis into your partner’s vagina. The vagina is a little harder to locate than you might think, especially if you’re eager and nervous. If you let your fingers do the finding, you’ll avoid awkwardly jabbing at her with your penis.Use lube. Lube can help decrease the pain and make things feel so much better for both of you, especially that first time.Keep it simple. Remember, your expectations are supposed to be low, so there’s no need to try to impress your partner with a ton of crazy gymnastics. Stick with simple positions that will feel comfortable and allow for some emotional connection (if you want that). Don’t pressure yourself or your partner to orgasm. There are enough things to worry about without adding orgasm to the mix. Focus on enjoying the sensations instead.Don’t worry if you don’t enjoy it. Lots of people didn’t particularly like sex the first time they had it. Having a crappy first time is not a harbinger of sexual doom. Think of it as an excuse to try again really soon.

Have fun, and welcome to the wonderful world of being a sexually active adult!

‘This you gotta hear. Boy in Los Angeles fifteen year old. Father decide it is time the boy have his first piece of ass. Boy is lying on the lawn reading comic books, father go out and say: “Son here’s twenty dollars: I want you to go to a good whore and get a piece of ass off her.”

‘So they drive to this plush jump joint and the father say, “All right, son. You’re on your own. So ring the bell and when the woman come give her the twenty dollars and tell her you want a piece of ass.”

‘“Solid, pop.”
‘So about fifteen minutes later the boy comes out:
‘“Well, son, did you get a piece of ass?”

‘“Yeah. This gash comes to the door, and I say I want a piece of ass and lay the double sawski on her. We go up to her trap, and she remove the dry goods. So I switch my blade and cut a big hunk off her ass, she raise a beef like I am reduce to pull off one shoe and beat her brains out. Then I hump her for kicks.’

Doesn't really account for the massive problem social media is having on sex. Teens and young adults don't really go outside anymore. It's way harder to meet people and begin relationships in a standard healthy way. Kids often have nowhere to meet or go in the suburbs these days. Instead they are basically locked inside homes with the internet being their only way to communicate.
I see this take so many times and I think it's is a chicken and egg problem: Did social media make young people stay inside when they went outside before, or did young people being kept inside make them use social media? I'm partial to the latter. This is a problem that has been brewing for decades. Parents were so scared of isolated kidnapping stories from the '70s and '80s that they made it impossible for their children to live their lives unsupervised. Children, especially children of parents on the upper end of the middle classes, were made to focus more on academic success and personal development at the expense of social development. As society changed, so did social norms.

Literally just have sex faggot

imagine having a steak and kidney hangout and instead of just fucking other ugly people or getting really good at sucking dick you decide to tell the world

Also this is such a bloodless bland account
Sex is supposed to be fun

I pity this new generation, it must be like having sex with the non fun kind of robot

‘If it is amenable I would touch your female/male/non binary penis/vagina/other delete as appropriate’
I’d have more sympathy for them if they’d at least kill themselves dramatically but nope it’s just yet another article about how to go about your day essentially

whatever happened to actually living your life

Of course I don't know how well this could work, given that attraction and sex are often very spontaneous.

Not if you are doing it right. Months of stalking, buying rope, learning her roomate's work schedule etc. etc. There is nothing spontaneous about it at all.

"everyone's having sex but it sucks"

Amazing how the article left out a couple of key tips:

1. Have reasonably decent social skills.
2. Personality is probably more attractive than just being physically fit or good looking.

And I've noticed over the years that someone only gets mocked for being a virgin past a certain age is when they make their lack of dating success their whole identity. They'll complain about it frequently, but they never seem willing or able to fix their own problems. I've also run in social circles where a certain person would seem to fly off the handle at everything, even if the topics being discussed had nothing to do with the person, his/her social awkwardness or even dating or sex, and it became common for other people to dismiss them as someone who "can't or needs to get laid".

Dating has gone downhill because, almost like everything, it has become somehow involved with politics and social trends. Not that it never did but current year has made it borderline unbearable and utterly non functional anymore. Women want all the power in it and yet want the man to "be dominant", BITCH WHAT YOU WANT?!

That sthe thing, they dont know what they want and that maybe internally pisses them off and they want to make sure men, who usually DO know what they want, are in the same boat of misery as her. Obviously not all, of course (gotta say it or else some idiots will shout "incel", as if thats not a cringy/coward way otfdodging criticism). Women are all about having empathy for them but when it comes to having empathy with men, then things change really quick.

How do I find my virginity again, knowing myself it could not have gotten that far.

If my 2d wife was to find out I'd been messing around in 3d, she's going to make sure I have 0d

1. Women don't know what they want. They are fickle but somewhat predictable in their fickleness. My wife enjoys being coy and pussyfooting around what she wants but I've gotten good enough at reading through the coyness to understand her wants in that moment.
The politics is thing is absolutely true - it has ruined two or three generations at this point alongside technology for the younger ones. When I was single I remember how attached women were to their phones. It eventually got annoying enough that I would just up and leave if my date repeatedly looked at her phone while I was trying to talk with her. Shit pissed me off; if the phone is more important than me then why waste my time? Put the fucking phone away.
As a married man I'll tell you that the "ra ra women power" shit disappears in the bedroom. Mrs. Skeltal can be a bit of a strident ballbuster in the office but that goes away behind closed doors.
Women that don't/can't/won't flip that switch are often more enamored of their politics that their lover. Unfortunately that's a lot more common today.

2. Women typically like strong men. Weakness evokes disgust in most women. The only women in your life who will ever have empathy for you at your weakest are your wife and your mother. Even then it can be a crapshoot.

"everyone's having sex but it sucks"
Sex, comedy, works of fiction...everything that's supposed to be fun has been under attack. It's all still there, but it's no longer as fun as it once was because everything has to be preachy and/or watered down. Between this and the lock downs the assholes in charge seem to really want to break the morale of the masses.

2. Women typically like strong men. Weakness evokes disgust in most women. The only women in your life who will ever have empathy for you at your weakest are your wife and your mother. Even then it can be a crapshoot.
A crapshoot in the sense that they may tolerate your weakness in the same way the average woman would (e.g. your wife loses any interest in you, perhaps permanently) or they exploit your weaknesses (this is a mainstay of single mothers and low-tier girlfriends). Best case scenario, they'll figure it's a typical emotional feature of yours.

I've talked about this before, but it's almost fascinating how out of depth you can render a woman just by becoming vulnerable. I thought they loved that shit! That's what Oprah and all those talk show hosts and all those romcoms told me! And wouldn't they be the most empathetic regarding my plights? How is it that my guys can have me covered as well as I'd expect a woman to, but a woman has me covered as well as I'd expect a guy to? ...obviously I'm surrounded by FtMs. It's the only explanation.

Anyways, everything'll be fine when you remember what you're there for: protection, providence, reproduction.

Women want to have their cake and eat it too. There's nothing new about this except how men are finally responding to it.

And this is how you and your tykes end up murdered (in Minecraft).

when women say they want a vulnerable man, they mean they want a man that coddles them when they are emotional and vulnerable.

not a guy who is constantly crying or talking about his feelings.

when I say this, soyboys and virgins get upset and say I'm chauvinistic yet I'm the guy who spent most of his early 20's being "the other dude" and listened to them constantly hammer in how annoyed they were with their husbands/boyfriends either A. not paying any attention to them and instead focusing too much on work/hobbies or B. how they were sick of their men always whining and bitching about shit going on in their lives.

honestly, the guys bitching that can't get laid need to just hire a whore. around my late 20's i realized it honestly isn't worth the effort because virtually every woman I meet is low quality. even when they look decent, they usually have a shit personality or are dead fish in bed. if they really have a problem with hiring a whore, they need to go after some older chicks. best lay I ever had was probably my friends mother in law. chick was leather as fuck and sounded like she'd been smoking since she was 12 but holy shit did she know how to suck a dick and fucked like a cheetah.

To be honest sometimes it really is as simply as muh genetics. I don't think anyone would deny that a woman with big tits or a nice ass has an easier time attracting men, but for some reason saying something like a man with broad shoulders has an easier time attracting women than a man without them makes people think you're an incel. If you're 5'5" with an overbite and narrow shoulders and skinny little arms and legs you're going to have a hard time getting laid even if you go to the gym every day and dress immaculately.

Isn't underage drinking still popular?
