To be fair, I've heard the theory that anime characters look and behave like what Japanese people think western people look and behave like.
Anyway... Anime characters are neither asian nor caucasian... they're anime people who dwell in a seperate spacetime known as "Anime-cho" which can only be reached from our universe through some little-known portals. They don't resemble earth humans very much - have you ever seen a human being with eyes the size of a giant squid's?

Truth being told: The moment these clowns started to call hispanics 'white' they were showing their true colors (pun intended). "White" is a synonym for "I disapprove of these people".
Also, the funny thing about this trans-this, trans-that nonsense that allows anyone to identify with anything on a whim is that it pretty much is the embodiment of what SJWs call "appropriation". Basically, they reduece people - they claim to support, no less - to their sexuality, race or whatever and then take that away from them, claiming everyone can identify with it. Especially white middle class housewives.

A) Write to them DIRECTLY.
B) legit artists don't have this problem since their fans want to subscribe to their patreons to support them. If a notable amount of patrons do this to you, it should tell you something about how important you are to those 'fans' or the world in general
C) pledging and unpledging so you can 'steal'* his art just adds the personal note of "Fuck you Dobson".
*I'm using the word 'stealing' very loosley, since it implies theft of something that has a value to begin with.
Quite a fitting choice of words. If he was uploading all his art in one go, I'd also refer to it as Dobson taking a huge dump on Patreon.
Joking aside: What about making art cause you enjoy it. What about making art "for everbody to enjoy"? What about giving fans content? He's so stuck up on making money here, you can tell why his art is so lacking. It's not a labor of love, it's just what he does to get money and asspats. Surely, that's not news to anyone here, but still, the fact how openly he confirms it should be disheartening to any remaining fan.
Unless, of course, you're on a quest to find all toilets in Skyrim. Then these fans can wait.

I can confirm that they are drawn with very western features. Especially the eyes. It can be hard to tell with how anime eyes look and all, but the way the edges of the eyes are drawn is distinctly non-asian.
It would take forever to explain. Short answer is yes, anime people are drawn to look like white people most of the time. Because the Japanese think white people are pretty. Seriously, white men in Japan can be swimming in asian pussy if they don't look hideous and play their cards right. And white women? Depends. As someone else said, people from Japan would tell you anime characters look japanese to them - especially since the 'Big eyes mall mouth' isn't a "make them look more western" thing, it just follows the basic notion of cuteness. I guess a reason why both europeans and japanese can identify with them alike is the fact that oftentimes, the design allows self-insertion since it's pretty much a 'blank slate'.
But I guess we're slowly spiraling out of topic, so I'll just leave it at that.

I love how there's a person who's calling him out for his bullshit and he's just upset because he thinks that she saw it after someone stole it and uploaded it publicly. Never did it cross his mind that she might actually be one of his patrons who saw it when he posted it and is legit offended by it. Well she is supposed to be from a fictional Brazilian city or something along those lines. The dub just gave her the standard "Sassy Black Woman" voice. Not that the digital painting the show utilizes is of any help either.
Anyways, back on topic. I seriously doubt that Dobson knows how Patreon actually works. Judging by his inability to know when he should be keeping on his set schedule playing vidya and bitching about Skyrim, Splatoon GG, his "haters" and so on.
That's another problem. As @MayMay just pointed out, doing it all at once might make someone reconsider making any future pledges.
