Congrats on working in a law office I guess, thanks for making sure we all know how much better you are than a child who was force-fed industrial strength brainmelters.

The best career path for Jani is something low-maintenance and quiet. Of course she's not ever going to be in a high-paying prestigious field. But wishing her to OD or become a prostitute or whatever is just...christ, that's cruel. Glad to know we have that level of cruelty in the field of law 
Jani seemed like a bright, albeit autistic, child when she was younger. There was potential there. I think she would have turned out just fine with the right parents. A lot of her quirks probably would have been lessened with proper therapy and socialization. I know a lot of autistic kids that eventually grow out of their obsessions and stims as well and pretty much become relegated to the "weird normal" level. You'd be surprised what a good support network could do.
Whatever Jani becomes or loses out on, it's 100000000% the fault of Susan, Michael, and Creepy Cory.

She could work at an animal shelter, alternatively.
That would be a great job for Jani. There is a place for people like her in the work force. Not every disabled person is doomed to be a dishwasher or a prostitute. She could volunteer at a shelter just as she is right now, they can always use an extra pair of hands. If she has a genuine interest in politics she could have volunteered at a polling station. She should be building her resume with these kinds of things. Too bad there's no one in her life who cares enough to facilitate that type of thing for her.

Whatever job Jani has, she's going to have to be supervised. Sadly, I don't think she'll ever be capable of being independent, Susan has made sure of that. Not only because of her brain being melted by years of medication, but because of Susan manipulating her and making her doubt her own memories for years.
That being sad, a job at an animal center or a vet clinic would be ideal for her.

Exactly. She's capable of feeding or walking the animals, and if supervised could bathe them (now the optimism) if she was trained and watched intensely she could probably do other grooming.
A year ago I would have agreed with you but I was shocked by the progress she made in foster care. I think if, by some miracle, she acquired a good support system and found someone else to live with, she could learn to be independent.

Side thought--the one blessing out of Susan's meddling is that Jani likely doesn't have her own private accounts on young people sites like tumblr or reddit. Lord knows I'm not in the mood to watch snowflakes screech at Jani for "cultural appropriation" of hispanic/latino culture. So at least there's that.
The constant Spanish stuff can get annoying though ngl. Especially since it looks like her pronunciation is getting worse and worse. Jani, and most autistic kids for the most part, need socialization therapy to help them realize that their fixations aren't shared by other people. It's fine to have a special interest but it comes off as super bizarre and obnoxious when speds shove it on other people without rest. A good therapist could have taught Jani how to vary her interests and add some flavor and culture in the things she finds interesting. Even expand on them to find useful outlets of expression beyond reciting the ages of pets and dancing like a four year old. All things deserve to like what they like. But they also deserve dignity and that, unfortunately, doesn't always come natural to special needs individuals. It's something that needs to be taught and like fuck if Susan would ever allow that.

Remember how fast Susan got rid of Hot Jennifer, the respite worker who encouraged Jani towards age appropriate interests and better grooming (and was helping Bodhi re-gain some speech skills even while being OD'd)? She was around for less than two weeks; Susan wouldn't stand for anyone ACTUALLY trying to help her children or instill routine in their lives.
It's the same reason why Susan pitted Jani against Living Skills class; the teacher who gave her the Coco book; and is busily working to gaslight every happy experience Jani had while away into the most wretched abuse.
Susan only tolerates The Susan Show, where she's the showrunner pulling all the strings, and the only goal is to evangelize her after school special understanding of schizophrenia, while inflicting maximum chaos scross the board.
How has Susan never ended up in the ER for her mania? She's obviously on a manic bender; she looks worse than ever, and I doubt she's eating much if at all. She looks like a homeless woman, barely holding it together.

At least Gypsy had internet access. That was how she met that dude whom she convinced to kill her mom for her. It doesn’t look like Jani even has that. Without the internet, I don’t see how she has any hope of meeting anybody while she’s still living with Susan.
Unless CPS/APS steps in again, or Susan gets run over by a bus, I don’t see any hope for Jani. I doubt Susan allows her any contact with her father anymore, even if he was interested in helping, which he isn’t.

This is my Mad at the Internet rant so feel free to skip. Susan, you are such a piece of shit. You should not have been allowed to give birth to one, much less two children. There are teen moms who are better parents than you and Michael. You have terrorized your children for years and they both should have been PERMANENTLY removed from your clutches. Just be aware that there are hundreds of eyes watching your every move and some of those eyes work for DCFS and APS.

Yeah, Michael is as much to blame for this situation as anyone. Susan is horrible and has some serious personality disorders going on, but she is also legitimately crazy. Michael is not crazy, just lazy, weak and self-centered. And he knows what Susan is capable of, and knows what fate he’s consigned his daughter to, but he’s nevertheless washed his hands of the horrific situation he helped create because he’s just can’t be bothered to try to fix it.

And how many languages do you speak? Nobody is saying she was ever a genius, but I think she would've been fine if she had been adopted as an infant and raised by normal parents.
Sadly, too much of her brain has been melted, so she will never reach a "normal" level of functioning. But she's still capable of doing more than what she's currently doing. The proof is in the tik tok videos.

I agree. She could clean cages, feed the animals, play with them, etc. It's not rocket science and it would give her some joy in her life.
