And at least for the two I've bolded, the literature teacher I had in middle school was conservative/attended Tea Party rallies and not once did she ever talk about the evil whiteys (even my hippie high school teacher said nothing about evil whiteys for Huckleberry Finn). Yeah, the books didn't hide that there were bad people who chased out black families and lynched them just because they were black, but they also didn't paint all of white folk as evil.
