This is the main point I'm trying to make.
You could argue a private recrimination would have been more "proper," but then we wouldn't have had all this glorious milk. We would probably never see their DMs.
And Bob is a piece of shit anyways. I have no sympathy for him, even if Lindsay might not be the most ideal person to knock him down a peg (or several dozen). By having it be somebody from the SJW hugbox gut him, he is now genuinely blown the fuck out. I don't know if anybody fully ideologically opposed to him could have pulled this off. In fact, I'm pretty sure they couldn't. He'd be screeching about ring wings plots now if it weren't somebody like Lindsay. Even Blob hasn't be retarded enough to try that excuse in this instance (yet).
I would agree with this if it wasn't somebody like Bob. Bob is a horrible person, and he's being burned by the very ideology he's been carrying water for. Fuck him.

Doing it in public was the only way she could make it clear that she was never Bob's friend. She might be a cunt, but telling Bob off in private wouldn't have the effect she wanted. I'm completely willing to believe that her main goal was completely crushing any attempt by Bob to claim there was an association between them. She certainly doesn't mind being in the center of a drama in which she appears to be completely justified to her audience and most onlookers, but that's more of a bonus to her.

Also, even if I wanna imagine myself as a woman (just toss in your own joke here) if I was in her position, if a dude is being as publicly dumb and gay as him you should be able to just embarass him. Like in high school if a dude is talking to his friends about how he went to a cool kid's party, that cool kid should be able to walk by and chime in with "lol u weren't invited bitch"

He protected his "personal" account before. But that a novelty account he probably just made at the behest of the Escapist. He never took it seriously and couldn't help but still mostly shitpost on his main account (since that has so many more followers and Bob feels a compulsion for EVERYONE to know about any shitpost he makes). For the record he's forgotten his personal account so much he didn't even bother to protect it:

Yeah... but here is the thing, it shouldn't be HS all over again for Robert, because that is the kind of shit we LEARN in the social context school.
The thing that is fascinating about Robert isn't quite the twitter rants or autism, is that, in a fucked up way, he is relatable, a lot that we see in the guy are vestigial parts that we already left behind. That is why a lot of his rants sound absolutely juvenile. But at one point of our lives, we all were like Robert, but with experiences and time, we move on.
Even this thing with Lindsay, I think it's safe to say that everyone had a similiar experience at one point, of course, not as public, but again, we all learn when to take a hint.
That is one of the reasons why cows like Robert are fascinating even when they are just going through the motions, that cringe feeling at looking into a fucked up mirror.
Sad part is, I don't think Robert is capable of moving on, he has a bad case of arrested development. Still, Robert makes it hard to pity him because of all the resentment, arrogance and scorn he has for others.

Gonna ditto other people's points on this.
On one hand, I hate Lindsay Ellis. I hate the kind of bullshit SJW tactics she and her breadtuber pals are using to attack Bob.
On the other hand, I fucking despise Moviebob. I cannot think of a person more deserving of being taken down a peg. The more people that know what kind of person Bob is, the better. In Bob's own words "no bad tactics, only bad targets". I disagree with that statement but it's hilarious in retrospect.
Think I'm just gonna keep hating them both while celebrating Bob getting BTFO for once.
