Man, I am both excited and nervous for this election. I just really hope we all aren't becoming too cocky and too assured that Trump will definitely win. After all, look at the assumption everyone had last election, only to be proven wrong.

Non-American lurker here, I'll be watching this closely for entertainment value. There's been a lot of interesting, well-informed posts in this thread, so big thanks to everyone participating and let's have some fun. A pleasure reading you.

Up early so I can get some work done and still be there when the polls open.

I can’t believe it’s Election Day already.

Glancing over at some different states, here is some unexpected news to start your day:

Virginia is absolutely in play.

Targetsmart analysis of early voting is a little dicey in states like VA where they don’t list party affiliation with voter registration, but even assuming a Democrat skew on the data, Trump has enough votes left in the tank to pull ahead if he has an above average turnout.

3.4 million already voted, with a 300k lead for Biden. 3.0 million still to vote, with an estimated 59% going to Trump and 35% to Biden.

Even if Jorgensen nabs 4% of the vote, Trump still has the potential to take VA by up to 4 points.

My jaw hit the fucking floor when I saw this. Target smart may be wrong, but they would have to be wrong by underestimating Biden by a quarter million votes or more in order for him to carry the state.
Holy shit.

If VA goes red, then Trump doesn't need MN, WI, MI, or PA to reach 270 ...

Let's hope this trend continues throughout the day and that we get a big upset. If VA turns red, it will undoubtedly be because of Northam's gun grab and the riots in Richmond. If VA stays blue but is a photofinish, then the Trump Campaign will sorely regret not spending enough time there on the campaign trail.

Right now, I am crossing my fingers ... But not holding my breath.

Waiting online to vote now. Got here 20 minutes before the polls opened and there was already a long line.

Any vote other for Trump will help Biden. It will shorten the percentage gap for popular vote in select counties and lead to recounts, which we saw last election cycle.
Sort of, but Kanye's votes will probably be coming from young black people who would otherwise lean Biden.

Also of note from the Trafalgar Group: Trump needs to win by a clear margin in PA, by 4-6 points, in order to shut down any suddenly late influx of mail-in votes.

Yuro lurker hoping for a Trump win simply because the media here is constantly talking about a Biden landslide being a certainty.
I wanna see a re-run of their 2016 cope.

Went to the site and saw this.

A few days to a week old but I find it funny how for battleground states, some of the big cities are islands of blue in a sea of red (Hennepin County is Minneapolis, Philly is Philly with Delaware and Montgomery as suburbia and Allegheny is Pittsburgh). Minnesota seems a bit more contested with the northeast counties, but for battlegrounds, I'd imagine it'd be more of a mix. I saw the same thing with Oregon in 2016 in only Portland and Eugene were blue. Can you really win a state with these individual cities/counties?

Also recommend the brightest flashlight you can get and don't be afraid to shine it in their eyes, I dont think anyone has ever gotten charged with assault for shining a light into someones eyes.

Just so you know bats probably gonna be considered a deadly or dangerous weapon. Its also gonna hurt a lot more than a baton.

Steamlight makes awesome flashlights that are bright as fuck. Ditch the bat and get out that ball-peen hammer that is sitting in your Junk Drawer in the kitchen. Smaller and easier to wield than a baseball bat, and any shot to the head will end the fight, even if the target is wearing a helmet.

Just finished voting. Got there early to a massive line. Weird energy, some Biden folks there but I counted 5 trucks that drove by with Trump flags (one with a huge painted plywood sign in the bed) while waiting outside.

I voted Donald J. Trump because it’s the closest you can come to putting an actual middle finger to the establishment into an envelope and shoving it in the ballot box.
