US Town Halls For Drumpf and Biden - Dueling Geriatrics

President Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden will participate in dueling televised town halls on Thursday evening. The events, scheduled to start at 8 p.m. Eastern time, come instead of a planned debate. Trump is being hosted by NBC News in Miami, while Biden is being hosted by ABC News in Philadelphia.

At a campaign rally in North Carolina ahead of the town hall, Trump repeatedly insulted NBC and described the event as “a free hour on television.”
Sen. Kamala D. Harris (D-Calif.), Biden’s running mate, has canceled travel plans until Monday after two people involved with the campaign tested positive for the coronavirus. Later Thursday, the Biden campaign announced that it had learned that an administrative member of the company that charters Biden’s plane had also tested positive.

Uhhh, this is the thread. Ummm yeah. Here are the streams:

I love how Trump literally said that he has no idea what QAnon is, and they are still reeeing that he didn't denounce them.

As someone who is pretty “online” and enjoys conspiracy theories, even I don’t really understand what it is or why people take posts on an anonymous forum with zero corroborating evidence as gospel. It doesn’t surprise me at all that Trump doesn’t know what it is.

They'd have to take the Senate, kill the filibuster (in itself quite controversial) and then pack the court, ruining its legitimacy forever. I don't see Biden or Kamala going for such a risky move. Neither of them are progressive true believers, Biden is the very definition of an establishment Democrat, and Harris just takes the path of least resistance (swung right as AG, left in the primaries, moderate after the VP pick...). The Democrats will whine about it, but unless the SCOTUS tries to completely abolish gay marriage or abortion, ruining the SCOTUS is way too risky and would completely contradict their "return to normal" messaging.
If they take the Senate, they will kill the filibuster, optics be damned. The DNC does not care about if the government appears legitimate if they have the power to do whatever they want with the country. The Democratic establishment is already pushing for legalizing pedophilia as we have articles defending Cuties of all movies. Why wouldn't they pack the court, give Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico statehood, ship jobs to third world countries, and exercise absolute power if given the chance?

"Return to normalcy" is only a narrative to win over fairweather people. What they really mean is that if Biden gets elected, the country will change into a "new normal" that will oppress dissents the likes of which we have never seen before. Biden was asked today if he would pack the court "he would consider it," which means a yes. It's a cope to think that Republicans will be allowed power on a national level anytime soon if they lose the presidential election and the Senate. So much is relying on this election.

Didn't that fuck them over already?

Don't they realize that the other side gets to use the new rules too?

Or are they just that fucking stupid.
It did, at least when it came to Supreme Court justices, but they are banking on winning the election and the Senate. Think of achieving a long-term victory while accepting short-term defeats in order to obtain permanent power.

Oh this time the gloves would be off, they've already been really pushing for DC statehood and Puerto Rico statehood, 4 new Democrat senate seats right there. Though they've also had some pushing for the idea of overhauling the Senate to make it more like the House so instead of 2 California senators you get 200-300 or more. Then with the court packing idea they can swamp SCOTUS with some new lefty judges, effectively giving them control of Congress and SCOTUS and those moves would squeeze out Republicans even more and thus make it even harder for them to reclaim power which is exactly what they're hoping for because they saw how their filibuster changes bit them in the ass and if they're gonna make power plays they're making them with the understanding that their actions will never again allow the GOP to regain control of Congress and allow themselves to be embarrassed like they were when McConnell was shutting them down left and right and filling up all those federal judge seats that Obama left vacant.

ETA I don’t totally get why Trump hasn’t run any counterprogramming to this dem batshittery. Probably because it’s a fringe issue that so far affects almost no one, in spite of the noise. But then, when has that stopped a politician?

Almost everything actually going on with trans issues is tailor-made for the right. You have left-wing denial of science; rewriting of history; compelled speech; Munchhausen-by-proxy abuse of children; violation of parental rights; and abuse of medical resources.

Most of what trannies demand makes the left look like hypocritical lunatics or violates Americans' basic civil liberties or both.

But a lot of Americans seem to think trannies are just pathetic, harmless men in drag, so, until the curtain is pulled back, maybe it's better for Republicans not to tackle the issue head-on. The problem is that trans activists get everything they want with zero public input, so the culture of silence only helps them.

Because they need a Boogieman. They are literally just throwing things to the wall at this point and seeing what sticks. Especially now that Trump flat out says he condemns white supremacy (which he already did but you get my point), they need a new thing to throw at him now.

>I decide I want to be transgender
>it'd make my life a lot easier

Is Biden secretly redpilled on the troon question?

It figures that Biden is being nearly incoherent on this, but I think what he's trying to say is that an 8-year-old doesn't just up and decide to be trans because it's easier; he's implying that it's hard to be trans. The way trans kids are worshipped even in conservative parts of the country, though, I don't buy that. Being a trans kid means you wield a ton of power over other people, especially adults, since everyone walks on eggshells around you.

Some Biden voter who looked like a slimey fuck asked Trump about hypocrisy over the Supreme Court nomination process. Trump had a great answer over how if Democrats were in his position and control of the Senate, they would go for it. Trump probably also should have brought up how Joe Biden fucked Dubya's daddy out of a Supreme Court nominee as well and then Clinton went in to win.

Democrats packing the Supreme Court basically forces the GOP to nominate and confirm ACB. Unless more than 3 democrats vote for ACB, Biden was going to pack the court.

Romney has signaled he will vote for ACB. High chance Lisa Murkowski will vote yes. Susan Collins is a cunt who needs to be removed or primaries out of the GOP. Maine must be a weird state where is literally over 95 percent white and one senator is a RINO and the other one is a democrat faking being an independent.

Susan Collins will hem and haw but will ultimately vote yes in order to clinch her re-election to the Senate.

I'd be surprised if there are going to be any Republican "no" votes, because this is the Republicans' golden opportunity to have a real conservative majority on the Supreme Court for decades to come, so you bet they aren't going to break ranks.

Edit: Also I think Susan Collins is much more conservative than Olympia Snowe who used to serve alongside her as the other senator from Maine.

So, I wanted to know some viewing information about the Town Hall events on YouTube so I decided to search for "Trump Town Hall" and "Biden Town Hall". Filter by videos from today and from most to least viewed and limit it to the videos that did the actual Town Hall event.

Here it is:

Trump Town Hall
  1. NBC News: 1,600,000
  2. CNBC: 1,300,000
  3. CNBC Television: 928,000
  4. StevenCrowder: 545,000
  5. Noticias Telemundo: 132,000
Total: 4,505,000

Biden Town Hall
  1. ABC News: 2,500,000
  2. David Pakman: 246,000
Total: 2,746,000

Maybe I should include Steven Crowder with Biden and Pakman with Trump because they were covering both but I put them in their respecitive categories based on that Crowder is obviously pro-Trump and Pakman is pro-Biden. I also didn't include videos with less than 100,000 viewers because it drops off pretty fast to the 4-figure range after these big ones.

Edit: forgot to mention.

Comments are disabled on the ABC video for the Biden Town Hall. But comments are enabled on NBC and the two CNBC channel videos for the Trump Town Hall.

Another interesting note. I went on the videos page of the ABC YouTube channel and they have a bunch of clips there from the questions. I clicked on all these clip videos to get some sense of the reactions of viewers:

There are the clips I checked

Some facts and opinions
  1. All of them except ONE have a negative like to dislike ratio (the last one is positive)
  2. Pretty funny to see many of the videos starting with the phrase: "Joe Biden pressed..." no he wasn't 😆
  3. The comments overwhelmingly shit on the ABC event and Biden. Some funny ones
Meanwhile Trump is getting grilled by some clucking hen at his own town hall meeting.
Why politicians can't go straight to the point? We don't want to hear all your stories. We want a straight answer...
No questions about ANTIFA denouncement in this town hall. Meanwhile Savannah Biased Guthrie grilled Trump on white supremacy, QAnon and a bunch of other BS. And he answered brilliantly. Biden fielding more softballs over here and answering through his capped, lying teeth .
You get a softball. You get a softball. Everybody gets a softball.
A normal, rational answer without interruptions or showboating. Is this what you want, you fascists? 😂
ABC needs to open the dictionary and read up on the word "Pressed."
He forgot the part where he said a travel ban was racist. Does he realize the vast majority of America has a better memory than he has?
This town hall was much more civil than the one held on NBC. Guthrie, the "moderator" was out for blood and actually debated Trump. Mr. George Snuffulupagus was very kind to Biden tonight and the two "Town Halls" are not even comparable.
So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time, and in those days it cost a nickle to ride the ferry to Idaho, and back the we had pictures of bumblebees on nickles, gimmie 5 bees for a nickel you'd say. Anywho I had an onion tied to my belt, and in those days we didn't have white onions, we had to use those big yellow ones...
Horrible..not sure what planet joe is on...he repeated what trump has been doing
The look on that young man’s when he was asked if he had all the information he needs is priceless.

No, seriously, what is this dude's obsession with shooting people in the legs? This shit will get you thrown in jail in all 50 states and yet this alleged presidential elect can advocate for a violent crime to be the S.O.P. for the police and nobody thinks that's fuckin' weird?
He is either grossly misinformed on the devastation of guns or is just saying something that sounds sensible to an idiot of a voter.

No police force would train their officers to shoot for anything besides center of mass or head in the event of a hostage situation.

At this point I can't understand why you could ever possibly think these people give one iota of a fuck about that. It's clear that they never, ever want another Trump interruption again, and are willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish that.

Keep in mind that this debate is what all those 100 celebrities were protesting because NBC was going to make Trump look good or something.

Well they weren't fucking wrong, Trump came outta that one a fucking conqueror bathed in the metaphorical blood of his enemies. Biden looked more like a coddled baby who needs naps and nappie changing.

I don't think NBC took into account how much Trump can rise to the occassion if you push him. If anything, being in a debate with everyone against him is when he's at his best.

Barrett is extremely solid on the 2A, I have zero doubts about her. She wants to let non-violent felons own guns, I doubt she'll have any issue with striking down "assault weapon" bans or unconstitutional restrictions on concealed carry. That'll make it five without Roberts, which will make it possible to clearly reaffirm 2A rights rather than settling for some mess of a compromise.

All this progressive bullshit started in earnest under Obama/Biden. The "return to normal" is a return to progressivism.
