Here's a question for all you Jack-Heads. (Jack-Offs? What does he call his fans?)

I've been poking around the farms for almost a year now, and it seems to me that people are often the most fascinated by the cows that hit a close-to-home nerve. This is probably not a new observation. I see some current and former fatties in the deathfats section, some people with caregiving experience in the Munchausens' and tard baby threads, etc. I won't go on, as there are as many diverse types of cows as there are grains of sand on the beach, but I believe this is fairly widespread. Nobody becomes a lolcow who doesn't ping quite a few people with "There but for the grace of God go I..." (Or by the grace of a little more intelligence, a little less autism, and not being a huge fucking narcissist.)

But Jack is one of my regular threads to check up on, and I'm not sure why. There is nothing about him that hits me close to home.

In some ways, he's sort of like an UberCow. He's got features of several other major cows:
- Fat and stubborn about it
- Neglecting health in a spectacular fashion
- Lazy as balls
- Autistically obsessed with something stupid
- Assumes he's brilliant at something he's actually terrible at
- Wants attention and money for nothing
- Child abuser
- Narcisisst

He's also a conservative, religious, idiot baby boomer, but those factors aren't what make him a lolcow. He is, however, the only conservative cow that I follow. As a left-leaning person, I find the left-leaning cows more fascinating/interesting/upsetting, and I don't think I'm alone there. I actually find the conservatives cows I've looked at pretty boring... but not Jack.

for me, it's how he somehow manages to be absolutely awful at literally everything he sets out to do. there really isn't anything the guy is able to do correctly. you'd think someone who's been doing this 13 years would at least make some sort of improvement, but not jack. all these years later he's still unable to create anything that looks appetizing (or properly cook chicken)

the cherry on top is what a fucking terrible human being he is. i've said it before, but if jack was a decent person i would legitimately feel bad for him, despite the fact that all of his health issues are his own doing. but he's easily one of the worst people i've ever encountered in every way possible. i've never seen someone be so thin-skinned and unable to handle even the slightest bit of criticism

I love cooking. Ive been seriously* cooking for less than half the time Jack has had a cooking Channel.

I find his failure to be any good at cooking to be very entertaining.

* Seriously cooking meaning I try cooking something completely new every other week. I got my hands on foie gras a few weeks ago

Most of what others have already said, and also he's not into some sick and disturbing shit like other cows. He's the stereotypical fat, ignorant American, a living caricature.

He also reminds me of a few people I know in real life, and I can vicariously laugh at them through him by proxy. Telling a shlubby guy I work with he's a lazy fat fuck for spending twice as much time looking for a closer parking spot than it would take to walk from a spot just twenty feet away would make for a tense work day.

Aah yes, this is what I couldn't quite put my finger on! The hubris! It's why Titanic is the only disaster film I've watched more than once. Just watching him fall apart while making the same terrible decisions over and over and insisting that he's right. There's really nothing like it. I also find it interesting that for some people, they can channel their feelings about IRL people onto him. Kind of sad that there's more than one Jack out there, though!

I wouldn't necessarily call myself a foodie, mainly because I dislike that word, but I do enjoy me some good food. It's a bit of a saying with Mrs. Sebben and myself that life is too short to eat bad food so enjoy what you can now. I'd then yes, part of reason I dislike Jack so much is he's a terrible cook and he has such terrible taste in food. Which leads into the next point.

The man is a raging narcissist. He can't stand comments that aren't exclusively praising him and his cooking abilities. He thinks he's ready for the big time on the Food Network but unless it's on a show like, "The Worst Home Chefs in America" as a contestant he's nowhere near that level.

And a lot of the rest of it is because he's a massive hypocrite. He tells others to stay in their lane because he doesn't like people talking about something they're not involved with. Yet he himself is always talking shit about anything and everything that he's not an expert on. In other words, Jack doesn't follow his own rules.

He is not a real conservative or a real Christian. He is simply an opportunist. He thinks more people will like him if he pretends to be thus than if he acts like an SJW faggot. For me it's a mix of his arrogance, ignorance, selfishness, total lack of talent and generally being a disgusting individual. He personifies the stereotypical boomer to a tee. I think it hits home for me because I enjoy food along with all its intricacies and can't imagine a person who literally just eats food to fill his voracious appetite.
