It was fear. He made fun of Alinity last night for hucking her cat around, so he needed to recover that one fast. Very few things invoke the wrath of the internet hate machine like animal abuse.

I believed it because it was right in line with his rant telling people to shut up about the Skittles. He still started an incentive that he can't live with. Again.

EDIT: We're not at the seriously busted gameplay yet, but it seems that The Quiet Man resonates with Phil because he just has to sit there and narrate everything that he's seeing. Which is what he does even when there is dialogue, but it's basically a prestream monologue that requires even less active thought on his part. He's loving it.

We all know what Phil would be calling the african american gentleman if he was a little ginned up.
 
He has repeatedly confused the game's love interest for the main character's mother, even to the point where THE AFRICAN AMERICAN GENTLEMAN appears to be dating her, despite the fact that he is just a little older than the main character. Plus, Phil established that the main character's mother died when the two guys initially met, so it's unclear how he would be currently dating her in the game.

As we have long suspected, he actually can't follow information that is visually presented, and is incapable of making reasonable inferences.
The fact that he has to narrate this is really exposing him.
 
Is anyone watching this Quiet Man playthrough? What the hell is Phil doing? He is narrating literally every moment of the cutscenes and every single move that he does... We can fucking see, you imbecile. This is driving me up the goddamn wall. Phil usually just describes what’s going on on the screen in place of real commentary, but this is ridiculous.

EDIT: He literally just won’t shut the fuck up for two seconds. And the wanna-be MST3K jokes... and the constant “I don’t know what’s happening...” Jesus...

There are a lot of AFRICAN AMERICAN GENTLEMAN clips so at least it's not a total waste.
 
I don't know what you guys are watching.
I'm watching a man who can't comprehend basic information, who is making questionable politically charged statements apparently by accident, breaking only to berate the chat, all while making some of the flattest and overall worst jokes I have ever heard during a game playthrough.
It's been a long time since Phil gave us this postmodern, deconstructed gold dust.

I'm sure he appreciates it Phil. You're doing God's work for your wheelchairs.

EDIT: Nevermind, he just said it IS tomorrow night's stream because people are liking it. FE just got the snips for The Quiet Man.
Maybe it's because it's the first time he's made even a modicum of effort in the last 2 years. Fancy that.

To be fair, the love interest and the player character's mother are meant to be strikingly similar. And Phil muddling the narrative, in this one case, isn't actually his fault because it was almost universally deemed difficult to follow (on top of just being plain nonsensical) on account of none of the dialogue being audible.

It's hilarious that he likes it, though. Of course he does. Phil is the litmus test for anything meant to appeal to the LCD.
