Most likely they die, are killed by the mother, or just abandoned. Nature understands don't waste resources on something that isn't going to live, or doesn't have the best chance of survival. Live stock is something to look into. Sheep have twins a lot of the time and if one is deformed they will shrug off the loss and favor the normal lamb. Even if say the other lamb is able to nurse, she will still favor the more sound one.


Heck, I believe I read an article way back about piebald bucks not being able to breed because they while yes a normal deer just oddly colored that doe would run from them even if they won the fight and by deer logic were the "Superior" male and his genetics should be carried on.

Yes, so the doctors have told her that her dumbass home birth is to blame for Luna’s condition. Had she just gone to a hospital and not insisted on laboring at home for 2 days in a foul hot tub with some woo hippie doula, Luna would be a healthy, thriving little girl. Selfish cunt but her “ideal birth experience” (which she wanted to use on IG) before the health of her baby.

When baby #2 comes, as long as she doesn’t fuck it up with another woo “birth plan” she’s going to be in for a rude awakening with constant crying and demands for food, changes and attention.

Obviously this dumb woman thought a silent newborn was totally normal and demonstrated her superior abilities as a empathetic woo mom, instead of realizing something was a very wrong. Going to be a real shitshow between silent potato baby with medical needs and a squalling newborn demanding attention and ensuring she won’t sleep more than 3 hours for six months.

You know, social media has done a lot to bring together women who have lost babies in a really positive way. It used to be taboo and hushed up but now they can find solidarity and support with each other. I don’t even mind when they post photos of their (full term) stillborn babies so that people can say how beautiful they are.

I’ve shared before that I had anencephalic twin brothers who my mother carried to term and who were stillborn back in the 70s. These pics give me the feels so hard. I have no beef with grieving parents who want photos of their dead babies for private remembrance, but posing your dead or dying child in birthday hats, costumes, and Snow White dioramas seems unhinged and disrespectful.

I don't have experience with the system just have seen certain fundies (people who are NOT at all qualified to adopt) go through disrupted adoptions.
Usually the child is placed with them but the adoption is yet to be finalized. Then the child is removed and it is back into the foster care system or a new family.
It is not something to brag about since many times (but not all) the "disruption" is due to the adoptive parents not going through with the adoption.

Also it could have been them hitting up a vulnerable pregnant woman and her deciding not to place her child with them after birth.

It means that the adoptive parents backed out. Its done in a legal way sometimes, but there is a huge underground community where people basically post ads for the children they're looking to get rid of. It's fucked up and literally human trafficking. Here is an example. Here is another recent one where a family adopted a special needs kid from China, built an entire YouTube platform of almost 1M subscribers on him, and then decided he was too much and gave him away.

Some of the parents in this thread are able to keep their kids going for several years (for better or for worse...), but I just don’t understand bringing to term a child if you know about the anencephaly and and that they have no chance of living more than a few days. Though I guess having a support group while going though that isn’t the worst thing. It just feels uncomfortable seeing them share pics of the babies and coo over how cute they are.

I have no idea if I want kids but. It always gets me down that if you're pregnant and do all the recommended stuff: eat super healthy, take all your vitamins, get regular checkups and ultrasounds, etc. and have a normal looking baby, it could still have issues that weren't present during gestation. Or even if you did have a normal baby, a few years down the line they could just start going backwards. I know it's rare. Very rare. But it still tugs at the back of my mind when I consider "do I want a kid one day?"
