Jfc, just another example of how clinical psychology is basically dead as a discipline. Helping a confused young woman work through her anxieties about the social expectations behind motherhood, perhaps digging into her own childhood and how those anxieties developed through, say, watching her own mother completely subsume her identity into caring for her children and husband? Lol no, too much work, not enough woke points, patient might actually have a breakthrough and not need to pay $200 a week in perpetuity. Instead, suggest her extremely typical concerns about motherhood actually mean she's a man? Howdy boy, that's sure a lot to unpack! Should we increase sessions to twice weekly?

Makes me wonder how many cases of troonism (especially FtM, considering most of the MtF transition desire is rooted in AGP) are actually iatrogenic. A neurotic young woman goes to therapy with feelings of inadequacy and discomfort with the female gender role... and voila! The "helpful" therapist drops a hint that maybe her dysphoria (yes, it actually meant something before trannies co-opted and bastardized it) is actually a result of being in the wrong body. Fast forward three months, and the "questioning" girl has morphed into a FtM being fast-tracked on hormones and "top surgery".

I suspect that sort of iatrogenic suggestibility (nice fancy word, very useful in this context!) is significantly more common for FtMs, which is all the more pernicious. Everyone who's not an MRA knows that young women are typically socially conditioned to be agreeable, aim to please, and to be overall more suggestible than their male peers. And any therapist worth their salt should be deeply concerned with helping their patients reach their own conclusions, rather than using their position of authority to give patients "the answer" they're so often looking for.
On the other hand, I feel like we pretty regularly see newly "hatched" MtFs on reddit raging about how their therapist is a transmisogynist for mildly suggesting that perhaps their desire for tiddy skittles just maybe has a sexual component that should be explored.

So I was recommended the 'Well there's your problem' podcast and on the first listen was suprised to hear some very obviously male person announce that they were called Alice and had female pronouns. It actually made me remember what Contra said, specifically about how his presance would create awkwardness as every other person in the room would have to announce their own problems no matter how obvious or unecessary this might have been. I was actually a little bothered since this 'Alice' was clearly making no effort even to sound female, and as I was paying more attention to him I quickly found that he brought almoat nothing to the podcast except semi-braggy anecdotes about living in Russia, so I didn't both pursuing it further (a shame, because I like hearing about engineering disasters).
This has been posted before, but it's from a while ago, was pretty brief, and there's been much more shit spoilled since then.

He's probably most known for being on the 'Well there's your problem' podcast, which discusses engineering disasters. His cohosts, two men who sound very much like they have beards, are awkwardly compelled to announce their pronouns at the start of every episode, because Alice makes no effort to raise or feminise his voice and thus stating his pronouns is essential. Naturally, the disconect between the clearly male voice and the pronouns is hilarious.
He's also part of the TRASHFUTURE podcast, which is a 'news' (I guess?) podcast featuring someone who actually appears to speak Russian (Milo Edwards) and some other nobodies with anime avatars. The podcast twitter occassionally chimps out about transphobes, terfs and Corbyn.
Alice is presumably bi, posting both about gross lesbian shit but also apparently has a husband, Christopher Caldwell Kelly, who is possibly trans himself (looks femme, uses ~special pronouns.) I couldn't find any pictures of them together in my extremely cursory google search, which is strange. Oldpost claims that the husband is not trans, but there wasn't any proof. He shares a name with an actual writer and journalist (A white guy who has written several books and contributed to the New York times) which naturally makes digging up shit on him a little tedious.
