What happened there came pretty close to black pilling me about whites anywhere "waking up". They were outnumbered 9 to 1, were fighting people whose battlecry was literally to kill them all, and in the end they still meekly turned over power. No military or police resistance, let alone coup. A few lower class rightwing whites joined groups like awb and set off some bombs, but they were ruthlessly suppressed by those same white military and police and eventually threw up their hands. They couldn't even mount a sustained insurgency. In my darker moments it leads me to conclude whites in this country will just quietly go from 60%, to 50, to 40, to 30, to 20, to 10 just as they've gone from 90 to 60 over the past half century. But who knows, maybe not. All the militias sprouting up to defend their communities from "looters" is a hopeful sign. But who knows whether that would ever translate to a willingness to resist what will no doubt be coming from DC should the democrats ever gain power again. I go back and forth between hope and hopelessness.
