It reminds me of the people that treat the one male character on MLP and decry him as a nuisance/triggering/annoying despite him pretty much being Steven as a dragon. I guess the hair really does matter.

Tumblr has a tendency to put people they like on pedestals, as though they're almost purposely setting themselves up for disappointment. So when the staff of this "super revolutionary feminist SJW cartoon" does even the smallest thing they don't like, it's an opportunity to play victim; acting as if they were led astray by some evil wolf in sheep's clothing or however they want to play it up.
