I attended the BLM protest in Providence, and it was quite peaceful. High energy, hundreds of people, but most people there understood that burning their local buildings down is only going to make things worse. The police were off to the side, moreso as security then blockading. I'm unaware of the current situation in Providence now, but from what I saw, everything was peaceful and there was no encounters in the crowd. It should be an example to the other protests across the country.

The type of protest I like to hear. Glad not every city is going nasty. wonder if lovecraft is rolling in his grave

There was hardly any media attention for this rally. Really goes to show how glorified the violent protests are becoming versus the peaceful ones. Not to mention Providence has a huge African American population, a majority of the people at the rally were black, and yet, nothing happened. Its funny how all of the white kids are in videos breaking and burning shit in their ANTIFA larp outfits.

EDIT: forgot to mention, none of the cops were suited up. No riot gear, no SWAT vehicles. They were just stationed outside of the state house and Kennedy Plaza. Things easily couldve gone south, but it was peaceful.
