As a partial followup to
my final thoughts on dumb SJW shit, I think I should say something about a phenomena I have autistically named "
The obsequious instinct" "
Sycophant Syndrome".
I.e. the pathological obsession shown by certain people to loudly and performatively demonstrate their support for a cause in the most extreme and obnoxious yet relatively comfortable and cheap ways they can think of, motivated not by a desire to grift money/power/social capital nor even being a sped with mental issues but solely due to the fact that they see whomever they have deemed the "higher authority" as having advocated for said cause, and thus seek to show off how in tune they are with this higher authority even when the cause in question completely contradict how they live their lives and even when their ways of demonstrating this support completely contradict the very cause.
Basically think of every hyperbolic partisan or fundie or ultranationalist or celeb worshipper you have ever encountered who had no direct stake in the shit they were going apeshit over, and indeed were happy to ignore beforehand, yet the moment a political talking head or preacher or nationalist demagogue or some worthless celeb specimen declared something or someone to be good or evil, they went absolutely feral in publically shrieking how that person or thing was the bestestest/most evilest person or thing in human history and how all who did not agree were some variety of filthy heretic conspiring against decency.
Now I know this all sounds very similar to your garden variety fanatic, but the key difference here is the total lack of any serious conviction or belief that what they are doing is right and that it is something they will cling to in the face of all rebuke from those around and above them. These specimens will chimpout over dumb shit entirely due to their belief that this is what those with moral authority over them want, even when its shit they never cared about before and will happily forget when told to stop by said moral authority.
Traditionally, the two main bodies capable of inciting such blindly aggressive support for anything they wanted no matter how dumb or evil have been governments and religions. However in the past few centuries as both governments and religions have lost a fucktunne of their old respectibility, these specimens will now congregate around media or internet personalities, conspiracy theorists, and indeed pretty much anyone who presents themselves as a worthy moral leader who knows "the truth" about everything and anything, and will at the slightest signal unleash the full force of pent up sycophantic rage that was once reserved for crusades, jihads and state sponsored genocides onto the dumbest and most petty shit imaginable.
To TLDR it, the kind of people who when told to jump by whomever they see as being "in charge" will spend weeks jumping and screeching to everyone around how jumping is the only salvation, and then the moment they are told to stop jumping they will spend weeks furiously demanding the cops break everyones knees to prevent illicit jumping from occurring. And unlike grifters and wannabe grifters they will do it for free and with little expectation of reward.
So when you see democrat hardliners, just remember that they are simply one single example of a vast multitute of speds who have always existed in every single segment of society since the dawn of civilisation.
