Honestly a little surprised, figured he'd refuse to do it because he didn't want to have it demonstrated just how little pull he has with people anymore once Biden loses.

I don't doubt that, but he made a lot of shady backroom deals in his time that he wouldn't want light shined on, and you can bet money they're still covering for a lot of shit he's done. I'm not saying he's doing what they want out of some sort of altruism or even enlightened self interest, it's more comparable to blackmail.

Anything is possible, but it doesn't look all that good for Biden right now imo. There was already kind of a "fuck, we gotta vote for this faggot" attitude on the left, and now it seems like he's having worse, and worse age-related mental health issues.

I suppose if actual material evidence surfaced of Trump doing something REALLY bad, if the Democrats kept everything shut down and somehow actually managed to blame that on Trump in a way that stuck, if Biden suddenly became completely lucid and actually developed a sense of charm and wit for the debate as well as being able to stand for an hour, and if the virus suddenly ramped up and caused 50% casualties in predominately red states, then yes I suppose I could see Biden winning.
Edit: Oh, and the press would have to stop doing shit like this.
