I suppose that's what surprised me the most hearing this news after completely forgetting about Ian's existance since the mid 17's. I automatically assumed that he was just a normal guy behind the scenes and was merely playing character. So I assumed he was probably like any other successful online personality, and handled his personal life in the best way. Keeping it away from the internet. His online personality of self-deprecation made me assume he was very comfortable in his own skin in his private life and would probably find a normal girl or already did. As a married dude, for me it's far more about the fact that sex is supposed to be something shared by the two people engaged in a relationship. It's supposed to be a bond built over time in the same way as the relationship itself. If you look into the private relationships of pornstars for the most extreme example, you can see what continuously breaking that bond does to a person. It's the same reason relationships with more than one partner fail. I don't think anyone is making the argument that posting nude pictures is the same as fucking heaps of dudes behind your partners back. But you're still crossing a line that you can never return from. If this is something that both parties agree on good for them. I'm not going to stop them. But I couldn't stress how much it will completely ruin your relationship in the long term. You no longer have the privacy of the single most intimate act a human can engage in. There's also the social effects, but that's a very different animal. I can't imagine the horror of one of my kids stumbling onto my wife's catalogue of "lewd cosplays" she did for a few thousand bucks years ago. Fuck that lmao
