In this particular case, the troon didn't get custody because it's blatantly obvious she/he/plant pot/whatever was trying to troon out the child. If the other parent has any sense they'll take the child and run.

It depends on the judge. Remember that judge in Texas who gave the child to the parent wanting to get them on HRT? He only reversed it because of the outrage. My sister was a foster parent for a time, and they gave one little boy back to the parents who had burned him with cigarettes.
