Maybe...maybe not. Time will tell if EVS' success gets to his head and he's a one hit wonder, then I will agree with you fully that he shit the bed and his ego wrote checks his talent couldn't cash.

But if Rainbow Brute comes out in 2020 and it's of the same quality as CyberFrog, EVS is 2/2 and he can keep shoving the SJW's face in his success. I know both myself and @Adamska are wondering about that project.

I'm not making ANY promises. I'm working on CYBERFROG 2, which I'll launch sometime in 2020 when it's 80% complete.

I'm also drawing part of a fun team up comic between JAWBREAKERS, GRAVEYARD SHIFT and CYBERFROG. Zack is writing it and drawing 7 pages, Jon Malin is doing 7 pages, and I'm doing 7 pages. Each of us are doing a cover, and we'll split the profits three ways.

After that, I'll see how I feel about what I want to do next. Either Reignbow Brute or CyberFrog 3. It'd be great to get two full issues out next year, and if I keep them to 48 pages, it's possible.

Dude, Zack is a writer. He's not penciling and inking his own comics, he's hiring out different artists.

I'm writing, penciling and inking my own comics, and it takes a long time to draw these characters. He can do three comics for my one comic. That's a pretty good ratio for me.

That's exactly what I would call it. His priorities are fucked, as well. It seems like he doesn't want to make comics, and he'd much rather make shitty videos about baby yoda and Star Wars in general.

My priorities are first and foremost spending time with my family. I'm a new father again, and I don't want to work the hours that I did the first time I was a dad in my twenties. Making YT videos is fun, keeps my customer base alert, and pays better than Marvel or DC EVER did. It also allows me to be a husband and father.

Drawing CYBERFROG is extremely important to me, but I'm not going to put in those 14 hour days to barely scrape by anymore. It isn't worth it.

I cried a little. Very inspiring, faggot. Ethan needs to put out more books and stop acting like a self-absorbed tool before he can bask in any glory.

I don't need to do anything to act like a self-absorbed tool basking in glory. I've had a hell of a career and I'm a terrific comic book artist. If I stopped today, I'd have done more than most of these creators.

I would go so far as to say that Ego is a good way to lose support, and patience. Ego is worse than not delivering on time. Ego makes you a lolcow. Delivering late makes you an artist.

You have created a rift among yourself and fans and other comic book pros. The only way to fix it and redeem yourself is for you to do what you were born to do. What you were meant to do. Why is pro-EVS propaganda allowed to stand in this thread while actual criticism is removed?
The point of comicsgate was to criticize the comics industry. If Ethan, Richard etc are now "part of the industry" (as they like to trumpet now; "you can't ignore us!"), then they can and should be fairly criticized.
Instead this thread is turning into pure spam.

Comicsgate is about controversy in the comics industry.
It isn't about shilling for indie books trying to dupe people into thinking "If I buy this it'll surely teach those SJWs a lesson!"

Shilling is what it is now, and I suspect was there almost from the very beginning. I remember EVS praising certain artists that joined Comics Gate, he even talked up and suggested people support the projects they were working on. And that was a year or so ago when it first started. It seemed less like 'Let's address the comics industry's issues on a broad scale' and more like 'Let's form our own splinter group.'

In followup to last weeks discussion of George Alexopoulos v. Peter Simedi printing, a user of Mr. Alexopoulos’ print service was pleased and posted a video of the quality of his at home print operation.

Last week proved a relatively quiet week for #Comicsgate. In the private notes that were passed to me, there was talk of a Thanksgiving gay op, but that seems to have died down. One possible reason may have been that people who felt they were going to be fingered as a conspirator in the plot Ethan alleges exists against Allegaince Arts took to uploading private videos to YouTube defending themselves in advance which could then be made public upon Ethan’s revelation. One such video was shared with me and I was told that I served as the inspiration to make it.

Doug Tenapel excoriated #Comicsgate as ostensibly conservative movement which succumbed to SJW pressure because of their stance on homosexuality. Ethan responded saying, “See, Doug hates gay people!” Neither of which were particularly interesting.

The eBay data from Cyberfrog showed a continuing downtrend. Taken on average, the price of Cyberfrog has deteriorated to the point where the typical copy sells around $50. When analyzed for the specific titles, we find that the much lauded Salamandroid cover has proven the best investment, with the median value being exactly $100.

The Team-up cover ended up being the worst performing cover of the three. Current sales data suggests a price of $25 or less would be the market clearing price with a strong downward trend pushing it below $20 within the next few weeks. Given that the amount of Team-up covers in private hands only represent the 470 currently fulfilled out of the total of 2123 which will be available after shipping, the Team-up cover senses destined to test a $10 low over the next few weeks.

When viewed purely in economic terms, Ethan absorbed the vast majority of the demand for Cyberfrog: Bloodhoney and fulfilled it directly. The secondary market for what these titles will trade at will suffer sharply over the next few months. Its long terms prospects remain to be seen, but Mr. Van Sciver could find Cyberfrog headed for the dollar bin soon.

This sort of thing is exactly what's wrong with any supposedly consumer-oriented movements in entertainment industries. The whole endeavor sounds more "noble" than it actually is because acting like you're giving the power back to the people is a smokescreen for establishing a profit-oriented cottage industry built on initially legitimate but eventually forced outrage. It's a valid response to an industry that's full of shit in some ways, but a sham in its own right at the end of the day.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to make money and there's nothing wrong with wanting to oppose a broken industry, but when you combine the two hypocrisy becomes an unavoidable design flaw of the whole ideology.

The whole endeavor sounds more "noble" than it actually is because acting like you're giving the power back to the people is a smokescreen for establishing a profit-oriented cottage industry built on initially legitimate but eventually forced outrage. It's a valid response to an industry that's full of shit in some ways, but a sham in its own right at the end of the day.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to make money and there's nothing wrong with wanting to oppose a broken industry, but when you combine the two hypocrisy becomes an unavoidable design flaw of the whole ideology.

Aside from the outragebux, I see literally no point to following gaymergayte's example on this issue when people like R. Crumb, Dave Sim, et al have proven for decades that it is completely possible to be successful by independently making and selling the comic books you want to make rather than the comic books that are dictated by the big two
