To point this out for our guest @yesthatanna -- Wizardchan is a support group for male victims of depression. That's kinda a sensationalist way of saying it, but fuckit, it's true enough, especially given the high standards of honesty Zoe upholds herself to.

One of the ways Zoe Quinn got her start was literally posting harassment against herself on Wizardchan so she could claim she was being attacked by eeevil men. She did this because initially Steam rejected her shitty "video game" (which is literally just a website in a window that talks about her hipster fake version of depression for a while) and this allowed her to pretend to be a victim of harassment, which allowed her to get enough clout to force Steam to let her fake video game be posted on their service.

Others can fact check me on this, as I'm probably off a bit -- this is DEEP internet lore, after all. For example, I've never been to Wizardchan, but from what I understand it's home to what we would now call Incels -- not the "lol Imma gonna insult these men by suggesting they don't know how to seduce whores" version, but stuff like men with autism who know they'll never be normal enough to get married, or quadrapalegic men whose wives left them and their hopes of raising children are now gone. So, a combination of bitching about life, trying to avoid suicide, and grumping about how much better it is for "chads" and women.

But yeah, she's been doing this shit for a long, long time. And that's not even getting into her ruining a game jam, running a fake game jam to steal money, attacking a feminist charity up to and including hacking their fundraising accounts because Zoe feels charity begins at Zoe Quinn's home, et cetera et cetera.

To further explain it for those who never encountered this way back in the long ago. Wizardchan was or is a forum populated by men who suffered such cripplingly severe anxiety disorders that they were physically unable to interact with members of the opposite sex. Yes deep autism. These weren’t men who hated women. Most deeply desired the ability to hold a normal relationship. But their fucked up brains wouldn’t let them. Comorbid to this was deep depression and a host of related issues. These were men quite frankly hard wired to not being able to harass women, because the thought of interacting with them caused them to freak out and melt down.. Wizardchan was a sort of ad hoc support group. It had Suicide prevention numbers posted all over the place in large bold fonts. Zoe used a sock to post something disparaging about her game, and generate negative discussion about it. Then stormed the place accusing the Wizard’s of harassing her, and directing her hordes to destroy them. Think through just how evil an act that was. The Wizard’s only crime was they were physically and mentally incapable of interacting with Chelsea. They had to retreat into their tiny sad lonely and deeply depressed womanless web space just to have even a semblance of social interaction. For that crime they had to be destroyed in Quinn’s world view.

That's the thing that really gets me about all of this. Before thezoepost spawned a culture warrior asshole rumpus factory, both her and Eron Gjoni were involved in indie game circles and both are lefty social justice types, that's why they were together in the first place. But for some reason people decided he must be a nazi misogynist because he "started a harassment campaign" against her, which he didn't. He never approved of what happened and these fucking GG-related ghouls just will never leave him alone. I feel bad for him because it's obvious he wants to move on and would live happily if he never had to hear the name Zoe Quinn ever again, out of anybody's mouth.

Eron unironically did nothing wrong. (And yes rate me late by 3 days and like 30 pages but some of the shit in this thread is genuinely annoying to slog through.)

I've spoken to Eron a couple of times, generally he does straddle the middle. If he was as spiteful as some people imply, he wouldn't of edited out the number of extra details in the logs he posted with the Zoepost - he very much focused on the actions that affected him, and removed names of the "5 guys" and personal stuff Zoe used while trying to fish for sympathy or to discourage him from taking any action. Heck even in the original Zoepost he mentions hoping the best for her and genuinely disappointed when, instead of actually facing the consequences of her actions - ran into Lifshitz and then bragged about going on a tour around Europe instead.

But genuine love is weird like that, people can be a massive shit to you. But you still sort of look out for them anyway. I can say that Eron generally held the identity of the people Zoe was shagging behind his back, but also wouldn't deny if people worked it out. He also had other infomation or stories that he did withhold and never dumped into the fire, probably because they were people like Alec who didn't want to become the next Eron.

He does quietly get on and do his own thing. He might of done that much sooner had Zoe not dragged him through the courts for 2 years mind.

Interestingly enough, the only people who received this punishment were women, because men generally didn't pull that shit and would often challenge each other to duels in order to settle grievances. Nah, nothing to do with a world view. Zoe Quinn doesn't have principles or a world view. Didn't Twitter roll out a change recently that rigs it so that when you block someone, any replies they made to your tweets get hidden automatically?

So all Quinn has to do is block anybody who said something unpleasant (which she does automatically anyway ... I can't imagine at this point how many tens of thousands of people she's blocked) and all their mean replies go away, leaving a nice sanitized "everyone wuvs you!" feed.
