DC and Marvel are owned by megacorps with more money than small countries.
They aren't hurting for cash ever.
Although AT&T has started to ax several of it's divisions as a cost cutting measure and there are rumors DC's on shaky ground with the new management of Warner.
Don't see Marvel going anywhere unless Iger's successor is a real corporate hardass like John Stankey .
I'm sure they're profitable, yeah. But DC's already cut their line in half. And Marvel might have Disney money, but at some point someone at Disney is going ask why they're spending millions upon millions on social justice comics that don't sell and are mocked across the industry -- and are actually harming their movies.
Remember Marvel's strategy is to flood the shelves with SO MANY BOOKS and variant covers and the like that the comic book stores don't have any resources left to work with DC, Image, Dark Horse, etc. It's working, but it's also destroying the industry.
Not to mention the next MCU? From all appearances they're basically all the movies on the shitty insane SJW comics.
Female Thor. Miss Muslim Marvel. Captain Mary Sue. Black Captain America. These are NOT going to do well, unless they're actually written well, and you know Marvel is going to toss SJWs at positions of leadership on these films if they can.
Or, to say it more succinctly... get woke go broke. They just happened to have half a century of inertia to burn through.
