Dmitriy Andreychenko is accused of bringing more than 100 rounds of ammunition, a rifle, a handgun and body armor to a Missouri Walmart. The incident occurred on August 8 in the city of Springfield.

Speaking to the media, Lieutenant Lucas said that Andreychenko, 20, is “lucky he’s still alive.” Lucas added that Andreychenko surrendered shortly after he arrived at the Walmart after he was confronted by a former firefighter. No shots were fired during the incident.

Open carry is generally retarded and makes you look like a sperg. It used to not be a big deal and I'd stop at Walmart or somewhere to pick up targets or at a gas station to get a drink going to or from the range with a visible OWB holster. Then retards started doing it to make political statements and it doesn't do any good. It's just edgelords edging. I knew one lolberg who used to do it all the time in a very liberal city and was constantly stopped and harassed by police, freaked people out, and accomplished nothing, but it was the principle for him. With concealed carry you don't know who has what, so it might make someone more apprehensive (because unfortunately we can't have the wild west where every man and his mom is packing). as soon as open carry was legalized my first thought was how stupid that is. way to paint a target on your back and make sure you don't get the chance to defend yourself or anyone else unless you're really really good at quick draw.

From what I've heard about this incident, he was 'testing' walmart to see if it still upheld 2nd amendment protections.
Basically he opened carried in an area that allowed open carry and was recording himself to see if he'd be asked to leave the premises. Apparently he lacked the common sense to think that the reaction would be much greater than being told to go home.

The Walmart manager pulled the fire alarm, evacuating the store and an armed citizen got him to surrender. I haven't seen anything to suggest he unholstered his weapons and he was recording the whole thing on his phone which would be an interesting watch.

Honestly a lot of folks who open carry are just too cheap/lazy to go through the state licensing requirements. They're just out to flex their 2nd Amendment muscle with a Yeet Cannon and an Uncle Mikes holster.

These are the same people who know absolutely nothing about weapon retention. I've stood in line at stores behind mongoloids open carrying in open top nylon holsters and thought how neat it would be if it were legal to just snatch it. Don't practice weapon retention and not carrying a holster with some sort of retention lock on it? Mine now.
