Amy McGrath looks like a scuffed Todd Howard.

Yeah, me too. Why the hell couldn't the repubs have shown this fire like 10 years ago? Did Trump get them all fired up?
It's Kentucky and it's a Presidential election year to boot. McGrath is fucked for the same reason Doug Jones* is fucked. It's a Red State and Trump is there to give coattails on top of that. What are the odds that Amy McGrath is another Beto? Local candidate funded by massive amounts of outside money to challenge one of the faces of the GOP. To Amy's credit she doesn't appear to be trying to pretend that she's a different ethnicity than she actually is.
Between this and the hitpieces I've seen on McConnell recently, I wonder if Cocaine Mitch is the newest target for the hate mobs. His approval rating is at 38% from the last data I could find, but this sentence from wikipedia about his election campaign in 2014 is pretty telling imo:
Also something to note is that margin of victory was one of his highest all time, so he appears to be decently electable still.
Are you confusing him with Lindsey Graham? I feel Cocaine Mitch has always been savage, just no one was paying attention before. He was blocking and slowing down Obama's judicial nominees for years. Once Gorsuch got on the bench, that's when people realized he had been playing the long game even when the GOP was the Senate minority. Half of Trump's appointments should have been filled by Obama.I'm basically convinced McCain was blackmailing Mitch because as soon as he fucked off to hell Mitch became incredibly and unusually savage.
You know I've seen some analysis on how Moore was probably as falsely accused as Kavanaugh. The big difference being Moore was just a bit bigger asshole and had a few more questionable moments in his past. It's Kentucky and it's a Presidential election year on top of that. McGrath is fucked for the same reason Doug Jones* is fucked. It's a Red State and Trump is there to give coattails on top of that.
Of course if the Dems insist on throwing money at a hopeless race then the Beto comparisons will be quite apt.
*Yes I'm aware Roy Moore is trying to come back but he's polling horribly in the primary so that particular rabbit probably isn't gonna be pilled out of the hat again.
You know I've seen some analysis on how Moore was probably as falsely accused as Kavanaugh. The big difference being Moore was just a bit bigger asshole and had a few more questionable moments in his past.
I'm still not entirely sure about Moore myself but that's besides the point. You know I've seen some analysis on how Moore was probably as falsely accused as Kavanaugh. The big difference being Moore was just a bit bigger asshole and had a few more questionable moments in his past.
So I sometimes seriously wonder if Moore was the "test run" of the rape accusation strategy that they later pulled on Kavanaugh. And that given how the republicans threw Moore under the bus, maybe it led to the Dems overestimating how effective a strategy it was, thus their behavior over the Supreme court.
Well if you're one of those principled cucks over at National Review you still believe in all that Mr Smith Goes to Washington bullshit but nobody cares what they think anymore.Their backbone seemed to solidify during the Kavanaugh confirmation. I think it wasn't just McCain's death, but also the realization that Democrats are perfectly willing to destroy a good man, burn his house to the ground, destroy his family, and salt the earth once they are done, just to score points on the Enemy.
There's no feeling of betrayal quite like realizing how depraved your friends are--and that, in fact, they never were your friends, nor do they even see you as human.
Jesus Christ I can hear the REEEEING through the screenshot alone.Cocaine Mitch FTW!

While I won't begrudge the man his own bias, it read more to me how boorish and awful these people are with the frustration that it's being excused because "orange man bad". Honestly, their behavior during their game against Japan was terrible, but no one is calling them out on it because they espouse the "correct ideals". It was like that Serena Williams moment when she got beaten by that half black and half Japanese woman, it was poor form. This reads like textbook "how dare they say Orange Man is bad when in fact he is good." If you can't be happy the US team won because you don't like a player's politics that's your problem.
Moore, as far as I know, admitted in an interview that he had dated a girl (Debbie Wesson Gibson) who was seventeen years younger than him, with the permission of her parents. She claimed she was a minor at the time, he claimed she was "at least nineteen". He was in his mid-to-late '30s depending on when it actually happened. Either way, he came off in that interview as a major creep. Even discounting the more wild (and frankly much less credible) accusations of sexual assault or rape that popped up during his run, I think his technically-legal-but-morally-dubious behavior is enough to sink him politically (especially given his worn out old Moral Majority public persona), and that's probably for the best.
I'm still not entirely sure about Moore myself but that's besides the point.
Heres the thing. The Moore accusations were, forgive me for saying this, the Dems "doing it right".
Ford's testimony fell apart because it was overly vague bullshit against a low key and boring man.
The accusations against Trump fail because those are vague and petty against a man whose entire reputation is built on being a larger than life playboy.
Moore was fucked because his reputation is of the man who was too much of a Fundie for Alabama and of a genuine low down sleaze.
And even with all that it still took presidential levels of turnout and engagement on the Dems part and GOP turnout falling by literally half to let Jones eke out a tiny win.
Really that election was just a perfect storm and considering how Jones has not even tried to moderate his politics I think even he knows he's doomed.
Tell me about it. I was reading this piece by David French. There's 1 paragraph I 100% agree with...Well if you're one of those principled cucks over at National Review you still believe in all that Mr Smith Goes to Washington bullshit but nobody cares what they think anymore.
Everyone else on the Right has had their eyes well and truly opened at this point.
There's a feature written by the outstanding Jon Bois back in 2014 called All is lost. Basically the premise is this: In NBA 2K he creates a draft pool of the worse players the game will let him create. The shortest, weakest, least skillful possible. Those players, who he calls 'doomsday' players are the only ones who will replenish the league as the legacy players retire. He puts the game in franchise mode and lets it go, starting for the 2013-14 season. As the the doomsday players come into the league, the fewer legacy players dominate more and more against the weaker competition. Eventually only doomsday players remain and the result is as expected. In game 1 of the 2034 Finals, Orlando beats Denver 3-0 in 12 overtimes. The Magic and Nuggets combine for 1-372 from the field. Some krusty hag is challenging Mitch McConnell next year and blames him for all the problems the government has including Trump, never mind that her party caused much of the problems as well.
And I thought Brianna Wu’s campaign was cringe.

I think they understand the first half of how despotic control is gained. Weve seen it in every socialist uprising, the rise of nazism, and probably pretty much every other butcherous despotic regime. My theory is that the Dems have sunk so deeply into sjw nonsense that being oppressed is more important to them than winning.
The fix isn't in for Biden, if it was, Harris wouldn't be in the race, wouldn't have gone after him, wouldn't have gotten positive press, wouldn't have the press saying her polling chances doubled, Biden wouldn't be permitted to make an idiot out of himself and Obama would have endorsed him and campaigned for him, along with other Obama figureheads like Rhodes, Jarrett, etc. Hillary Clinton would be backing him, too and it would be very apparent that the Clinton and Obama machines are backing him. For the fix to be in for Biden, there also wouldn't be the "Clown car" scenario right now. There would be about 10 candidates.
Biden is the money-laundering chump getting taken for a ride who is the dumb punter's "favorite" to win it all, but actually sucks and is embarrassing. He is the Jeb Bush.
Edit: The biggest "fix" they can do is the Obamanistas and the Clinton Crime Family agree to back up Kamala Harris to tag-team against old guard Stale Pale White Male/Blue Dog sorts and people like Sanders and Warren and shit on these groups and continue to shut them out of the party. It might be a tough one to pull off, the old guard and the social justice democrats both having to eat another shit sandwich after 2016 might turn off too many donors, volunteers and voters to win 2020.
