Does brooks have a history of comment deleting? Each time I try to comment on his Arthur video, it magically vanishes a few minutes later. If so, that makes him just a little bit closer to reaching MoonmanMatt’s level of soyfilled faggotry

It's not a hard conclusion to come to, Brooks has always been a coat tail rider in the same way that the Boulder King was, the big difference being that Matt accidentally was sufficiently annoying enough to get brigaded by Zoe Quinn and shot to prominence (subs etc) because of his reporting on Gamergate while being in the middle of the controversy. But was basically a secondary youtuber talking head at best, like a 3rd rate Defranco and basically whatever he'd cover would be covered elsewhere by someone more interesting, better read, or with a better take.

Brooks channel development was more of a slow burn, but he's studied film studies and worked as an editor, so of course his skills were always going to be more polished. But he admitted in some of his earlier content that he was basically inspired (plagiarized) Black Pigeon Speaks, James Allsup, Kraut & Tea, Andy Warski and other "Skeptics" and had likewise content output that would target the same talking points, though it would usually be a small while after the news or original content movie had broke.

This is Brooks advantage, in the fact that he has already had all of the hard work done for him by other content creators in terms of what a video should look, feel, and sound like, as well as basically repeating almost everything that the original movie had in terms of talking points, he's basically putting 10% new content or insight into something already covered by better Youtubers. The difference is, is that by having the time distance in terms of making his movies, he's able to observe what is trending and thereby court an audience by making similar popular content, and also by holding back can avoid any pitfalls if it turns out to be fake news, fake quotes, counter arguments, etc.

That said the proof really is in his patreon engagement, if he was actually creating something of real value he'd have more patreon's, he doesn't. He's so low key that he's not even considered a part of any group, which probably benefits him because his channel is parasitic in nature.
