It strikes me as completely sincere. Having Jim Ross, a 67 year old Southerner usually relied on as a voice of credibility talk about this woman like there wasn’t anything very off about “her” tips me off this is a real agenda. I haven’t seen Sonny Kiss yet but by all outright appearances it seems to be a tasteless and poorly executed take on a character like Velveteen Dream which NXT has handled really well. My massive antipathy towards Cody and The Bucks gives me no faith that they’re not totally serious about this stupid shit.
I thought “Lance Anoi’a” was a rib on the fake Lance “Von Erich” from WCCW they trotted out after David died but apparently that’s his real name.
I don’t see how AEW are competition yet when they’re bleeding a billionaire money mark dry like a tech startup (6 million a year for Dean Ambrose?!‽) and paying to live the thirty year old boomer dream of putting wrestling back on Turner but man they are finding new lows under the bottom of the barrel lately on Raw and Smackdown.
If the Saudi Prince gets bored or their stock goes back to what it’s really worth for relentlessly trolling their dwindling TV audience with Shane O Gassed and Baron Corbin they may actually have real problems. I wonder if Fox has buyers remorse. Paying WWE a billion dollars to put their B Show on Frday when everyone will DVR it was exceptional when the quality was better and this wild card stuff wasn’t going on.
