Eh, It kinda makes sense Liam doesn't get the high volume of viewers that Woolie or Pat get. Matt does pretty well with his viewer base all things considered, so he probably has little reason to care. Plus he's trying to break into the indie game dev scene so it's probably the last thing on his mind right now.

Only reason I can fathom for Liam's salty response is that he's still upset because of unresolved behind-the-scenes shit, but really doesn't wanna reveal it. Just hint at it and use it as an excuse not to stream. Dunno what other reason he would have for not wishing his former employees well. Plus he's getting an anxiety attack from the mere mention of their success. I mean I left a shitty job filled with assholes before, but I'm not shaking irl every time I hear that they're doing alright.
 
I think Matt would be saltier about it than Liam would be, but Matt is smart enough not to be outwardly shitty about it. Liam just can't seem to help himself sometimes.

I would imagine that Liam is a bit upset because he bailed on SuperBestFriends play after contributing to it for a few years, decided to strike out on his own, and now they're (Woolie and Pat) are way more successful. It would be like if you skipped out on the office lotto pool and then your co-workers won the lotto.

Woolie and Pat are doing great with sponsorships, even ahead of a lot of streamers. Between Pat/Woolie's relationship with Capcom, Redbull, Bandi Namco, etc and now Rooster Teeth it seems like they're on a rocketship to success. Most MCNs are dropping streamers instead of adding them, so it's kind of a big deal at the moment.

This bit really made me respect Pat. Actually paying back backers is nuts, but that he even considers it and takes the influence he exerts seriously is commendable.

I don't think that Liam thinks he should be more successful than Matt/Pat/Woolie, but it seems like he was much better friends with Matt.

Matt regularly jumps on Liam's streams and Liam routinely jumps on Matt's channel for guest spots and post SBFP breakup (and maybe a little before) they've had a similar dynamic to Pat and Woolie (as in, two guys doing separate things but sometimes collaborating).

I imagine that when Matt broke off he probably talked a lot of shit about "being the brains and talent of the SBFP operation" and probably was going to take Liam along for the ride as he made his new empire. However, post-break it looks like 100% of the success to be had has been going strictly to Pat/Woolie and I'm no industry insider but it seems like Woolie and Pat are leagues more business savvy than Matt ever will be.

Matt kept the channel (thesw1tcher) but while it generates revenue, it is only going to decline. Woolie/Pat kept the podcast which will continue to grow and is a very fertile ground for sponsorship. Pat/Woolie scored a number of sponsorship to some degree where as Matt seems to have scored nothing.

TL;DR - Liam is probably anxious because he knows his friend Matt (and likely his wife) aren't going to be super happy about Pat/Woolie's success.

You'd think Liam the longtime friend of Woolie would be happy about this. Not suffering an anxiety attack.

I see this a ton and I don't know if it's confirmation bias or what, but almost every project I've ever followed is "delayed due to health reasons" at one point or another. It always results in the project being cut down or not as full-featured as originally advertised and it's a coin flip whether or not the project even finishes, but without fail someone key to the project always "has health problems". What the fuck is it with that stuff? I've worked with people who are fat as hell, unhealthy, or had pre-existing conditions and had heart bypass surgery who were back after a month or two and working full-time again with the only delays being project timelines.

Indie projects though? They crash and burn. If I was being a heartless jackass I'd bet these people don't really have health problems and just suck at working full-time with project timeline obligations, which is why they can't find actual work with actual businesses who measure your performance and expect you to earn your paycheck. I'd love to do a search on all Kickstarter and Patreon updates for the term "health reasons" and see how many of those results are excuses for project delays that never fully get back up on their feet.
