GOOGLE HAS BEEN forced to shut down a data analysis system it was using to develop a censored search engine for China after members of the company’s privacy team raised internal complaints that it had been kept secret from them, The Intercept has learned.

The internal rift over the system has had massive ramifications, effectively ending work on the censored search engine, known as Dragonfly, according to two sources familiar with the plans. The incident represents a major blow to top Google executives, including CEO Sundar Pichai, who have over the last two years made the China project one of their main priorities.

The dispute began in mid-August, when the The Intercept revealed that Google employees working on Dragonfly had been using a Beijing-based website to help develop blacklists for the censored search engine, which was designed to block out broad categories of information related to democracy, human rights, and peaceful protest, in accordance with strict rules on censorship in China that are enforced by the country’s authoritarian Communist Party government.

where the Mongol empire when you need them?

India has a full nuclear triad - bombers, land based missiles and sub launched ballistic missiles.

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi received today the crew of Strategic Strike Nuclear Submarine (SSBN) INS Arihant. The submarine recently returned from its first deterrence patrol, completing the establishment of the country's survivable nuclear triad.

Stressing the significance of the successful deployment of INS Arihant for the completion of India's nuclear triad, the Prime Minister congratulated the crew and all involved in the achievement which puts India among a handful of countries having the capability to design, construct and operate SSBNs.

India has a no first use policy but if those damn commies try anything they'll be deep fried like papadums.

A side-effect of this is that they hate the average person. They legit believe people are too stupid to be allowed to make their own decisions.
In their defense, if you've ever done tech support it's hard not to believe the average person is too dumb to live.

However Google isn't acting acting like this from a tech standpoint, like you said, it's an identity politics standpoint. Shit hitting the fan with James Damore was proof enough of that and then they just kept doubling down on dumbassery. Like when they fired Tim Chevalier for speaking out against racism and sexism at Google and that dude was 1 POC away from winning oppression bingo. It doesn't matter what side of the identity politics coin you're on, if you speak up they will shut you up.

Didn't Google take a moral stance many years ago where they said they would not host Google in China due to the government's extensive censorship?

How times have changed.

I thought we knew that from #NotYourShield and their incessant bleating of Uncle Tom and internalized misogyny. God, shitlord, educate yourself!

Yeah, if China nukes the US, India will glass China. And it won't take all that long. That's why having India as an ally is so important to containing China. Its an up and coming Democracy with a large population, nukes and a large military. Truthfully, we should slowly switch out our business relationships from China and move them to India to enrich their economy more. Though I think that might massively increase tensions.

Call me a cynic/autist but what is the likelihood now of these rebels being "exposed" as part of an alt-right nazi gamer conspiracy to stop asian people using the internet or something by our heroic and non partisan press?

I think the problem is that there were just far too many rebels to do this. Like 40+%. There's no way they'd ditch the Chinese market with anything less than most people being in open rebellion over the project. You can't fire them all. The thing is their CEO is a major faggot piece of shit who deserves prison IMO, so I suspect he will retaliate somehow, but it will be quiet and internally.

This is something that always irked me. Why are American companies allowed to violate the constitution so long as it happens overseas? Why are American food companies, United Fruit and Coca Cola in particular, known for having murderous death squads? How can Silicon Valley blatantly use slave labor? Oh and Google aiding Authoritarian regimes whenever it can.

It's all so tiresome.

Because its far too profitable. Its why globalists exist. Human greed knows no bounds and can be satiated by nothing, not even death. Its why the rich never stopped grabbing. That and the American consumer is too used to cheap goods. Imagine if everything cost 30% more! HOW WOULD YOU SURVIVE (You would because you'd be giving the nation jobs and employment, getting more tax revenue and more benefits as well as a higher salary and better quality of life).

The Silicon Valley Tech companies and Democrats in the 90's : "The Chinese communist party are crazy for saying that it's possible to censor the Internet to keep out foreign influences and anything that questions their narrative. We think they'll eventually realise that they need to have an uncensored net like the USA does"

The Silicon Valley Tech companies and Democrats after the 2016 election : "We need to do more to stop hate speech and Russian fake news on the Internet and implement something like the Chinese use because it leads to nasty things like Trump and BREXIT. If tech companies can't do it on their own we'll need government regulation"

At some point the left turned into the exact opposite of liberal - they looked over at China, decided that the Chinese elite don't have to worry about unexpected election and referendum results and decided that whether by corporate oligarchy or government, anyone who disagreed with Democrat approved lines on an ever expanding range of issues needed to be kicked off the net.

I'd say what we should do to Google's faggot traitor CEO, but that would put me on more lists than I already am on. Needless to say, I think Google's CEO is a traitor working with a foreign government in order to suppress human rights.

Dems have been investing a lot of time, money and effort into identity politics to silence their enemies. The problem is that they need to do this without dissent and they are completely relying on the myth of demographic replacement. You see this as Democratic power bases have locally been shrinking, so they have to rely on political correctness and silencing their opposition to survive. They cloak their authoritarianism in righteousness, so their paid for dogs write articles and shame people. Silencing people and opinions is really the only way progressiveness is holding onto power. Most people want the age of outrage to be over.

We're kind of in the last stages of it. When a power base starts waning, it starts to resort to more extreme methods of holding onto power. In this case, its silence and censorship. This is typically when the overreach wakes up the rest of the population gradually and the political winds shift. Its happened many a time in the US. People don't joke when we have a revolution every 10-20 years.

Because being the first to market matters, if you create something new that's in high demand and suddenly you have a bunch of competitors scrambling to copy you, you're already ahead of all of them, you have momentum, you're in position to keep developing your product, you'll continually have the best thing on the market, that's desirable.

If you spend 10 years developing a sweet program, put it out to market, and then the chinks copy it and sell it for 50% of the price without having to do a single minute of development work, how are you ahead of the competition?

If you spend 10 years developing a single piece of software before you sell anything you've got some major problems with your business model nevermind the chinks

Imagine how many billions they've lost out on for hiring danger hairs and other broken creatures

Google is a false god, and it's CEO Pichai Sundararajan is a pretend messiah.
