As far as hoping he blows up, I'm not too hopeful. He's an asshole and a drama whore, but I don't think he actually causes direct harm to anyone from what I've seen. I mean. Unless you count the stress from drama. Still worried about that dog though.

I think it's built for Pokemon Go players. Uses the same mechanics from what I have been told. It makes a lot of sense from a business standpoint, as it is a chance to draw some of the Go players into the main series by giving them a taste for actual gameplay. It's a spinoff to capitalize on a huge potential market of mobile phone users that loved Go, adding connectivity between the two was genius.

Sure the game looks pretty good but looking at the battle system and animations (or in some cases lack thereof) just isn't right. Compared to Stadium, it has this huge missing piece of Pokemon, well, battling. That was the magic of 3D battles was seeing a Snorlax body slamming an Omastar, or Kabutops rearing and lunging at a a Chansey with it's feet after being commanded to use Mega Kick. A personal opinion is that, if they're gonna get rid of items and abilities (which they confirmed recently) they should remove and revert any stat types and changes as well, on top of the physical special move split and revert the special stat because the only thing to do after getting rid of already established mechanics is to just go full retard and go back to square one. Maybe even make Focus Energy cut your crit rate in half as well.

Much like Solo: A Star Wars Story, I genuinely believe that this will be one of the first traditional Pokemon games that will not only get universally mediocre scores, but will fail to return anywhere near as much money as the previous game did. It's already generated significant antipathy from the traditional hardcore audience. I know that the Let's Go games aren't Gen 8, but they're still the first traditional Pokemon games on the Switch.

The only good Pokemon I've seen from him is a Fake-Out/ Last Resort M Lopunny. I will admit, that set up is insanely proficient. It's part of my primary team because it's stupid powerful. Pair it with a Ferrothorn and you'll witness alot of insanity. Granted a viewer probably gave him the idea.
As for battle skill, yeah, he's complete shit. I'd enjoy stomping a mudhole in his ass, but the prick refuses to battle me. He'll readily run his mouth anytime I call him out on his bullshit though.
Oh trust me, I know it's been around since gen 4, MLopunny just does it a hell of a lot better having much higher stats and getting the "Scrappy" ability.
