Would y'all stop using the fallacy of relative privation? Just because there are civil wars and starving children in Africa does not mean that corrupt journalism, nepotism and censorship should be tolerated, even in niche markets. As for why everyone is mad now and not in the past, gaming journalism used to be full of shills. Now it's full of shills who also proclaim themselves to be morally superior to their audience. Plus, it's a lot easier to see how dysfunctional gaming journalism is when there are good alternatives: Youtube and Twitch.

Again this is every avenue of journalism. Watch Fox News or MSNBC or whoever you want; every news outlet has their own spin and agenda. If you want to watch news on Youtube, go for it. But taking effecting the multimedia conglomerates that a lot of these places are owned by isn't going to happen.

Personally, I don't give a fuck about ethics or collusion or gamers being called 'entitled pissbabies'. I read through the original thread looking to catch up on what I assumed was lolcow drama and realised that I really really dislike these smug pretentious hipster faggots who call themselves 'journalists'. Now I'm following the whole thing to watch them suffer and panic as they slowly have their industry burned the fuck down. The azn neo-nazi guy got it right, "It's games journalism. Who fucking cares?". Gamers go to youtube Let's Plays or twitch to find out if they actually want to buy a game or not. I assume that's pretty much why games journalism is such a festering cesspool of corruption and agenda-pushing now. They already lost gamers as their audience, and they're making up the difference by baiting clicks from the tumblr SJW crowd to turn a dollar.
So is #gamergate accomplishing anything useful as far as the furtherance of journalistic ethics go? I doubt it. Aside from Gawker Media, all these publications were circling the drain already. Are they making a highly entertaining flame-war where I get to watch smug unlikable people's careers and sanity fall into tatters? Absolutely.

You've made a lot of comments indicating that you either think the whole thing is stupid, which is fine, or that you're actually opposed to the movement, which is also fine. Recently, as many of you know kingofpol has been making some very...vivid accusations regarding shills and skype groups. I think it's time we set the record straight on what really happened behind the scenes with these groups and KoP.
TL'DR Version: Kingofpol hit on Liz F a month ago, and some anon called him a creep for it (I think because of the way he hit on her), then Kingofpol thinks he's being called a rapist, than his girlfriend Cindyanimations encourages him to wrongfully paint the entire skypegroup as a secret evil cabal all because he one guy in the group calling him a creep.

For those of you that don't know, I am Inquisition from the logs he has released as "proof" of some grandiose conspiracy aimed at dividing and conquering the revolt that I so desperately love. I intend on showing you the other side of the story and why his accusations are complete and utter bullshit. Keep in mind that ALL of this takes place a fucking month ago and I've not spoken to any of the people on that side of the fence since that time.

That she was easily asshurt from ANY accusation towards her beloved man especially one that included another woman completely escaped me - I had no idea she'd take it in such a manner.
She proceeded to tell him about this shit, and drag him into the room in order to "handle it" . This is also where me calling him a creep becomes "me accusing him of harassment / rape." this is also where he apologizes for exaggerating the shit out of those claims. By this point you may be asking yourself, "Why didn't he edit the names?" because there is nothing to hide about this room. Nothing about it was shady in any way. This story can be vouched by multiple people. It also has been vacant in the month since these events took place.
During this whole episode where he's flipping out in the room, I am being privately asked by @logicalminority to "let him handle it." by this point I have already stated multiple times that I want nothing to do with it. I have all of those logs as well proving as much. This is also the same person who took the out of context logs that KoP has been showing around. One of them at least. I'd like to say this is where it ended...but that isn't true. Over the course of the next week, the entire room begins tearing itself apart, some due to anger over me daring to speak ill of king pol, some over Cindi and a few other people making it a habit of dumping logs on each other.
I begin getting told I need "proof" of my opinion by KoP's supporters who spend hours and hours interrogating me about it while also dogpiling and alienating my friends in search of the evidence. I was unwilling to provide Liz's proof as at this point in time we really didn't want to make this shit a public affair.
After this people leave the room and that would have been fine - did it not come out that behind the scenes during this whole thing, the people who supported KoP (his close personal friends) had decided it was time to start dropping logs on each other (and me, it's where KoP got his alleged proof) and attempting to dox me. And this is also the point at which I start saying (as you saw in the kop logs) that I have documents that I would release in the event that they kept driving this bullshit towards my real life.

A gg supporter who condones doxing his own over disagreements about e celebrities.I can also continue to name people who were involved with it, if they decide that's what they want. As I stated, I never wanted any of this shit. I've simply been forced into this position over the course of a month+ of a sustained campaign by a prominent figure within the revolt.

A lot of the drama related to this chat was blamed on me but ended up being confirmed as someone else entirely even though it didnt matter to the dick riders. Besides being irrelevant, this shit is long enough already.
And so that concludes my very long, very tragic story of how a clique of people who have a collective boner on for an e celeb thought it was okay to dox, harass, and just generally fuck with a fellow supporter of the revolt because they dared to speak foul of their lord.
And all of it just because he got shot down by a girl on the internet and made fun of about it. Later said celeb would go on to contort the story in all manner of ways, such as adding in revuelabs (never worked there) death threats (nope on that too) sexual harassment (LOL its the fucking internet) and whatever other bullshit he could muster to obfuscate the simple truth.

For all the wrong reasons. That's so Jace-ian it's sort of endearing.
There are three things I think we can all take home from the KoP Drama Bomb:
1. We should all collectively realize that shit like this is why #Gamergate is better leaderless.
2. This exemplifies why it's important to source your shit whenever possible. Also fact-check and review it. There's no such thing as too much info.
3. Even amongst the best people, tempers can run hot. It's important to know when to back off, settle down, and get your shit together with a nice cup of tea.
