I think he can read it just takes him a long time and he's probably bad at reading stylised fonts and stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if hes dyslexic as well as only semi-literate.

That was the theory that made the most sense but recently Jace claimed he met Tyce in a skate park when one of his juggalo friends tried to insult Tyce and Tyce threw and insult back and began rapping at them thus winning the Juggalos respect.
I'm not saying it's 100% true. People just assumed they met in sped class because they both took it and Jace may have been held back enough times to have it line up with Tyce showing up. That seems to be the problem when it comes to anything Jace-related, logic doesn't work. Eli has been in Israel for over three months, Tyce huffs his own shit and smokes baseball cards, Jace pisses himself live over the internet while islamic ebola-infected mice are running free in his weed cottage.
Also Tyce might be 18 now so juvie isn't an option next time his pranks go too far. I'm not saying he'll be thrown into prison but I think the shit he does will start to stick and finally bite him in the ass.

Random musing as I read this thread and worry for the mental state of the marine-trained-teen. Ironically I actually think the army might be the best place for Tyce if he could hold his shit together and learn to be more than semi-literate. I knew a more literate version of him in high school (who's uncle was a lawyer, and got him off the hook when his drug-induced ventures got him in too deep) and he was finally offered the ultimatum to find a job, join the army, or leave home. Army actually turned him into a pretty respectable guy with defined goals that go beyond just terrorizing people he doesn't like and getting high all day.
As for Jace, I saw a tweet from Tyce that said he should just join the army already if he's serious. I doubt his mental health and criminal record would allow for it at this point though.

I dunno, some of my bullshit alarms are going off. If I hadn't talked to Jace personally on a few occasions I'd be calling absolute bullshit. I'm not saying ruseman, but some of this is just getting far fetched.

Yeah, I've seen that video before. To me, that chick didn't really look like she "knew" Jace, a la Anna in "The tale of the crazy pacer". I could be wrong of course. I was wondering if there's people behind the counter that recognise Jace and maybe keep an eye out for him.

Tyce has all day to sound out tweets and he might have speech synthesis software to read for him, i believe it's built into windows now and it's likely that he was exposed to it through the world of special education, particularly since it would let him cheat on his dick and jane reading assignments. The literacy rate in the USA is somewhere between 80 and 99.9 percent for people 15 and older so it's not surprising that out of the most special people in the MA special education system you encounter kids who can only sound things out and only know a few sight words.
I once encountered someone who could hardly read and everyone present reacted with disbelief until the guy produced roughly 2nd or 3rd grade study materials and showed them to us. He seemed much more intelligent than tyce too.

I would normally agree but they're downsizing right now meaning his CO would not hesitate to kick him out after his first or second NJP. Ironically I think tyce would only qualify for jobs that he would be putting people in danger too. When people should have your back you dont want a psychopath around. I would expect to see tyce get at least 3 NJPs and a few hazing incidents by the end of any 4 year enlistment. Barely making it to the end provided the military was shorthanded... not happening until the end of the sequester.
But they would put an end to his micky mouse horseshit.
