So, in throwing out everything she knows about dieting she's going to.... do exactly the same thing.
Track calories (at an unrealistic goal level for her past behaviour)
Drink water (occasionally diet soda)
Track all food (which she hasn't been able to do consistently or without lowballing servings) and time she ate.
Track daily weight fluctuations
Track feelings and thoughts
Plan ahead when she can
Track steps daily
Moderation without sabotage.
I give her approximately 0.02 seconds before that all becomes too much for her considering she previously felt simply tracking calories was too much. I'm not worried about 1500 being too little, for someone of her height that would be perfectly fine and it's not like she hasn't got fat stores to dig into, but I don't think for a second she'll be able to do it.
The one genuine thing I can say here is that I actually think her tracking the times she eats could be useful provided she does something productive with the information. I would hope the shock of exactly how much she consumes int the wee hours would lead her to consider and make changes, but given that she's currently sitting at 543 I'm not hopeful for shock as a motivator.
But she did write it down in a journal y'all! Zachary will be so pleased..
