It's the whole high of both being able to support yourself and the possibility of being the provider. I don't know how often it happens but I can't honestly say I've ever been immune, but being on the opposite end isn't as fun as you think, even when the man or woman has the best intentions in mind (although in the case of incels in general I doubt this).
You have a house, a car, a life of your own, great! You don't get too many pats on the back from the outside world but it feels a bit better than living at you parent's home, although you shouldn't feel ashamed of the latter if you hit a low point in life, unless you just decide to be a NEET because you think society owes you or something.
But this should be done mostly for yourself, I've learnt. Not everyone wants to be provided for, a woman or man may have his or her own dreams of owning their own place with their own car with their own life, and someone trying to advertise their own place kind of interferes with that dream.
It's become too much of a competition sometimes rather than finding out as a couple that can work together to work out their own homes and what they want.
