At least 27 people have been killed and 27 injured in a Texas church shooting today, law enforcement sources told ABC News.

The alleged shooter is dead, and it appears there is no longer an active threat at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, about 40 miles southeast of San Antonio, police told ABC News affiliate KSAT in San Antonio on Sunday afternoon.

The church's pastor, Frank Pomeroy, told ABC his 14yr-old daughter is among the dead. He added she "was one very beautiful, special child."

A person who said she works at a gas station across the street from the church told ABC News she heard rapid gunfire at around 11:15 a.m., leading congregants from the church as well as customers at the station to run inside for cover.

“We heard several shots and we all started running inside the store,” she said.

“It lasted about 15 seconds. I yelled, ‘Get down! Get inside!’ and we all went into hiding,” said the woman, who said she is 49 but declined to give her name.

She said the gas station locked its doors. "We have not reopened,” she said.

She then that within minutes of the gunfire, emergency personnel had arrived at the scene.

“There were officers that were checking the wounded in here were asking them questions,” she said.

Connally Memorial Center in nearby Floresville told ABC News it has received six people from the shooting.

The FBI and ATF are heading to the scene, ABC News has learned.

Outside the church, police have formed a perimeter and flooded the grounds with emergency and police vehicles, according to KSAT.

A small group of people were seen standing together, holding hands as tears overtook an attempt to pray, a KSAT reporter said.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said in a statement, "The thoughts and prayers of all Texans are with the people of Sutherland Springs as tragic reports come out of First Baptist Church."

"Please join Angela and me as we pray for those impacted by this horrific shooting,” Paxton said.

Just after 3 p.m. Sunday, President Trump tweeted that he is monitoring Texas church shooting from Japan.

The killer has been identified as Devin Patrick Kelley. He was apparently an atheist and was dishonorably discharged from the military due to woman beating and breaking his stepson's skull.

I'm thinking it was more like Ghost from Call Of Duty

Yet another completely different autistic inspiration for the crime. Would go with the mall ninja AR and tac gear better.

BAN CALL OF DUTY NOT GUNS

Oh I weren't disagreeing, I was just stating a fact. That Call Of Duty is for dumbarse kids and similarly intellectually stunted edgelord individuals.

And yet it manages to outsell everything else by a wide margin every year. Seriously do we know what media he consumed?

Conservative preacher claims it that this was a case of "God answering prayers" of the victims.

“It may seem, on the surface, that God was refusing to give such protection to his Texan children,” he writes. “But we are also praying that God would deliver us from evil eternally. Through these same words, we are asking God to deliver us out of this evil world and into his heavenly glory, where no violence, persecution, cruelty, or hatred will ever afflict us again.”

Just when you think you've seen it all.

It's looking more and more like the Air Force screwed the pooch big time here. Somehow they managed to forget to pass his conviction onto the FBI NICS system after his Court-Martial. Oops.

Why is it not time to talk about guns when a white guy shoots people but it's time to take immediate action when a brown person shoots people?

Because the second amendment is codified into federal law. There's no law saying we have to allow inbred goat fuckers who hate us to mass immigrate.

I don't think they had to do that if he got the Big Chicken Dinner instead of a DD. (Correct me if I'm wrong, but the DD is equivalent to a felony while BCD is just a misdemeanor.)

Funny, I thought it was the other way around.

When someone like Omar Mateen snackbars, the people who ordinarily scream about gun control instead start screaming about religion of peace.
