At least 27 people have been killed and 27 injured in a Texas church shooting today, law enforcement sources told ABC News.

The alleged shooter is dead, and it appears there is no longer an active threat at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, about 40 miles southeast of San Antonio, police told ABC News affiliate KSAT in San Antonio on Sunday afternoon.

The church's pastor, Frank Pomeroy, told ABC his 14yr-old daughter is among the dead. He added she "was one very beautiful, special child."

A person who said she works at a gas station across the street from the church told ABC News she heard rapid gunfire at around 11:15 a.m., leading congregants from the church as well as customers at the station to run inside for cover.

“We heard several shots and we all started running inside the store,” she said.

“It lasted about 15 seconds. I yelled, ‘Get down! Get inside!’ and we all went into hiding,” said the woman, who said she is 49 but declined to give her name.

She said the gas station locked its doors. "We have not reopened,” she said.

She then that within minutes of the gunfire, emergency personnel had arrived at the scene.

“There were officers that were checking the wounded in here were asking them questions,” she said.

Connally Memorial Center in nearby Floresville told ABC News it has received six people from the shooting.

The FBI and ATF are heading to the scene, ABC News has learned.

Outside the church, police have formed a perimeter and flooded the grounds with emergency and police vehicles, according to KSAT.

A small group of people were seen standing together, holding hands as tears overtook an attempt to pray, a KSAT reporter said.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said in a statement, "The thoughts and prayers of all Texans are with the people of Sutherland Springs as tragic reports come out of First Baptist Church."

"Please join Angela and me as we pray for those impacted by this horrific shooting,” Paxton said.

Just after 3 p.m. Sunday, President Trump tweeted that he is monitoring Texas church shooting from Japan.

The killer has been identified as Devin Patrick Kelley. He was apparently an atheist and was dishonorably discharged from the military due to woman beating and breaking his stepson's skull.

Well it's hard to see an ISIS being in that part of Texas when they would be more likely to strike a bigger target in a larger city. I'm going to go with either a late-comer to that ANTIFA day of Revolution, a demented person with a specific grudge against someone in that Church, or @Oglooger came out of the basement to spread a proper Mexican-Aryan belief system to the Christfags.

Without a motive or the killer being obviously mentally ill, there isn’t much to discuss in the news.
The Charleston shooter was racist, Cho was autistic and sent a manifesto, and so on.
The Vegas guy didn’t leave any kind of clue why he did it, beyond probably losing money and being a narcissist that wanted to take it out on the city. And even that’s not for certain.
There’s only so much you can talk about that and keep people interested.
With Cho and Rodger you had their insane manifestos to at least.

I’m already watching Keith Olbermann’s twitter account.

Keith Olbermann makes Alex Jones look like a credible source of information. Fuck these commentator types, I can't believe people actually pay these assholes to tell the sheeple what to think.

Never underestimate the kebab’s propensity for attacking low value targets.

But I’ve got a gut feeling this is a white guy with a grudge.

If this number is accurate, then it surpasses the Charleston church shooting.

This isn't that far outside San Antonio so it could be anything. But I'm leaning towards disgruntled local.

Texas doesn't have basements and I'm busy in Portland creating the latinx revolution against Drumpf
