GWB was the worst president in modern history behind LBJ. I used to work in the school system and NCLB is actively causing children to be illiterate and it's multiplying. It's truly the most harmful policy out of them all - the patriot act, covid policies, Obama's backwards ass race relations, NAFTA, cash for clunkers, whatever the hell Biden's term was, none if it has done the damage NCLB has.

I was working (in an upper middle class majority white school) with this student in an average ass freshman english class on Lord of the Flies. White kid, good looking, social capital, jock, liked weed, but otherwise totally normal and seemingly going places. I'm working with him and I realize he cannot read and had flown under the radar because the squeakiest retard wheels get the grease (about 15% of children these days are legit retards (suss) and, aside from the vegetables, are combined with the normies cuz of NCLB.) I asked the teacher, how can he be in a freshman english class? We are reading a chapter book and he can't read Red Spot Blue Spot. She said that we have to pass no matter what. It was at that moment I realized the entire public school system needed to be abolished and my children would never be enrolled in that cess pit.

The good news is it would be an easy fix. Just fail the kids, shrink classes sizes, turn SPEDs back into boiler room freaks sequestered from the main population, teach phonics, boot back kids that should have never been passed in the first place. Like it would cost no money (SPED takes 25% of the budget, it shouldn't take more than 5%, get rid of their personal aides and use the money on children who will pay taxes one day) and could be done in a week.

Wow just googled. NCLB has been in motion since 2002. Jesus Christ, almost a quarter century of public schools being retard factories.
